Donna Burke Rakestraw

WATER VALLEY—Donna Burke Rakestraw, age 77, died Wednesday, July 17, 2013, in Baptist East Hospital at Memphis.
    Born January 12, 1936, in Lafayette County, Mrs. Rakestraw was a daughter of the late James Melton and Dovie Champion Burke. Donna was a homemaker, and an active member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary. She was a faithful member of First Baptist Church of Water Valley, she loved her Sunday School Class and was a member of a Bible study class there. Donna loved reading and watching sports on TV, especially football, basketball, and baseball.
    Visitation was held Friday, July 19, from 2 to 3 p.m. at Seven Oaks Funeral Home in Water Valley. A graveside service was held immediately following visitation at 3 p.m. in Oak Hill Cemetery at Water Valley with Bro. James Allen officiating.
  Survivors include her brothers, Kenneth Burk (Jean) of Collierville, Tenn. and Jodie Burks of Water Valley; two nieces, Pam Montgomery of Saltillo, and Jeri Anne Davis of Newton; two nephews, Kenneth Burk, Jr. of Memphis, and Damon Burks of Water Valley.
