Fire Damages Popular Drive-In – The sundaes at Sonic were extra molten after a blaze last Tuesday, Aug.27, heavily damaged the building. Firefighters were called out around 6:15 p.m. when leaking natural gas in the kitchen area caught fire sending employees scurrying from the popular local eatery. “While it is early, we believe it could be as much as six months before we reopen.” said Sonic corporate spokesperson Patrick Lenow.

A fire at the local Sonic Drive-In sent employees outdoors around 6:15 p.m. last Tuesday. “There goes my job,” commented one young worker as others called friends and family. “There was substantial damage to the building and we are thankful nobody was injured,” said Patrick Lenow of Sonic Corporate.

Firefighters donned protective gear and air tanks to enter the smoke-filled Sonic Drive-In. A gas leak is believed to be the cause of the fire.
