Michael Wayne Herron
WATER VALLEY — Michael Wayne Herron, age 58, of Water Valley died at his home on July 11, 2014.
Born May 21, 1956, in West Memphis, Ark., he was a son of Sybil Cagle Herron and the late Reginald Herron. Mike became a radio technician during his service in the U.S. Navy and was stationed in Charleston, S.C. for several years. He later returned home and worked as a mechanical technician at BorgWarner for over 32 years. Mike was a member of O’Tuckolofa Baptist Church in Yalobusha County.
Visitation was held from five until seven p.m. Monday, July 14, in Seven Oaks Funeral Home at Water Valley. The funeral service was held at ten o’clock in the morning Tuesday, July 15, in the Henry Chapel of the funeral home with Bro. Dan Dickerson officiating. Burial was in Forest Memorial Cemetery on Highway 6, near Batesville, with Pat Herron, Bill Herron, Bob Herron, Jordan Herron, Rider Red, and Parrish Lee Red as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers were Daniel Herron, E. J. Robison, Lane True, Charles Heath, and Billy Stark.
Survivors include his daughter, Brandi Nicole Herron of Water Valley; his mother, Sybil Herron of Batesville; a step son, Brandon Duke of Banner; three sisters, Joyce Tippery and Laura (E.J.) Robison, all of Batesville, and Kathy True (Lane) of Water Valley; three brothers, Pat (Laura) Herron, Bill (Tami) Herron, and Bob (Eunice) Herron, all of Batesville.
Margaret Dean Kinne
CABOT, ARK. — Margaret Dean Kinne, age 95, of Cabot, Ark., formerly of Water Valley, died Wednesday, July 9, 2014.
Born September 7, 1918, in Osawatomie, Kansas, she was a daughter of the late Percy St. Clair and Clara Fay Thompson Spaulding. She was the secretary at Water Valley School District, was secretary to the Mayor of Water Valley, and then served as Executive Director of the Federal Housing Authority in Water Valley until her retirement. She left Water Valley to reside with her daughter, Betty McQueary in Durham/Waxhaw, North Carolina for 10 years, prior to moving to Cabot, Ark. to live with her daughter, Bonne Jensen. Margaret enjoyed playing the piano and organ. She played for First Methodist Church and Oak Ridge Presbyterian Church in Water Valley, as well as requested music for weddings and funerals. Margaret loved people and always sought to serve others in care giving. She had a generous spirit, always thinking of others and praying for her family without ceasing. She is preceded in death by her husband, Merle E. Kinne; her son, Robert M. Kinne; a sister, Bette Wiltse; a brother, Grandville Spaulding, and her parents.
A celebration of Margaret’s life was held at two o’clock in the afternoon Saturday, July 12, in the chapel of Moore’s Cabot Funeral Home in Cabot, Ark., with Rev. Dick Avey officiating. The celebration continued at two o’clock in the afternoon Monday, July 14, in Seven Oaks Funeral Home at Water Valley. Burial was in Pine Crest Memorial Gardens.
Survivors include her son, Bill Kinne (Lee Ann) of Birmingham, Ala.; three daughters, Bette McQueary (Vernon) of Waxhaw, N.C., Bonne Jenson of Cabot, Ark., and Brenda Hunter (Frank) of Charlotte, N.C.; 17 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; and 17 great-great-grandchildren. She was deeply loved and will be missed by a large legacy of family left behind.

WATER VALLEY—Martha Mitchell, age 57, died Thursday, July 10, 2014, at her home in Water Valley.
Born November 3, 1956, in Fort Worth, Texas, she was a daughter of Melba Branton Mitchell and the late James Calvin Mitchell. Before retiring, Martha worked as a landscaper and she enjoyed working in her yard, her garden, and taking care of her flowers. She was a good care-giver and loved taking care of others.
Visitation was held from 10-11 a.m. Saturday, July 12, in Seven Oaks Funeral Home at Water Valley. The funeral service followed visitation at eleven o’clock in the Henry Chapel of the funeral home with Bennie Turnage officiating. Burial was in Oak Hill Cemetery at Water Valley.
Survivors include her son, William Jarrod Corlew (Brie) of Coldwater; her daughter, Felicia June Cristole (John) of Water Valley; sisters, Eva Mae Dillard (Dick) of Chattanooga, Tenn., Kathryn Faye Clark (Mike) of Rome, Ga., Deborah Ruth Bratton (Eddie) of Pensacola, Fla., and Minnie Karen Mitchell of Water Valley; her mother, Melba Mitchell of Water Valley; and five grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her father, James Calvin Mitchell, and her brother, James Douglas Mitchell.
