Leon H. Benson
OLIVE BRANCH—Leon H. Benson, 86, died August 13, 2014.
He was a retired electrician for Baptist Memorial Hospital, a 32nd degree Mason, and a Baptist. Mr. Benson was predeceased by his parents, Hardy Bailey Benson and Bessie Hentz Benson of Oakland, and a brother, Dr. Jerrel Benson of Cleveland, Ohio.
He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Dorothy Terrell Benson; a daughter, Gloria Bell (Luke) of Jackson, Tenn.; a son, Terry Benson (Barbara) of Byhalia; grandchildren, Kevin Benson, Josh Bell, and Katie Benson; three great-grandchildren; and a brother, Ray Benson (Margaret) of Charleston.
The funeral service was held Saturday, August 16, in Forest Hill South Funeral Home, Memphis. Pallbearers were Kevin Benson of Olive Branch, Josh Bell of Coral Springs, Fla., Ethan Benson of Olive Branch, Keith Marchbanks of Water Valley, Andy Loyd of Byhalia, and Randy Marchbanks of Southaven.
Betty Rasmussen Pass
RENO, NEV—Betty Ras-mussen Pass died Sunday, August 3, 2014, at her home in Reno, Nevada.
Born November 9, 1930, in Ely, Nevada, she was the daughter of the late Pearl Sciuchetti Rasmussen and Roy Rasmussen. Betty was a veteran of the Korean Conflict and served in the United States Air Force from October 1952 to August 1959. After she left the service she worked as a secretary, realtor, and she was active in arts and crafts.
She was cremated and her ashes will be placed in Arlington National Ceme-tery, Arlington, Va.
She is survived by her husband of 55 years, Lawrence Pass of Reno (formerly of Water Valley); a sister, JoAnn Potter, of Morgan, Utah; a brother, Lee Rasmussen of Salt Lake City, Utah; five nephews; four nieces; and many great-nieces and great-nephews.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Alex Rasmussen of Napa, Calif.
