Water Valley Couple Face Molestation And Rape Charges

WATER VALLEY – Police have arrested a Water Valley couple and charged them with molestation and rape involving minors.
Joseph Brian Patton, 41, and April Lynn Patton, 28, were arrested Wednesday, Sept. 3, after police obtained a warrant and searched their Central Street home, according to Police Chief Mike King.
Evidence was seized during the search and the couple taken into custody. They were released on commercial bonds of $11,000 each.
Chief King said that the couple could face additional charges depending on the action of the Grand Jury.
In an unrelated incident, police are also investigating a report of gunfire in the area around Calhoun and Wood Streets.
On Tuesday, Sept. 2 a resident of Wood Street reporting hearing ten gunshots and told police that one had struck his house.
Officers searched the backyard of the residence and found a bullet hole in the back fence. Another bullet hole was found in the house.
Police searched an area on Calhoun Street directly behind the Wood Street residence and talked to two men at that location.
