Extension, Chamber Host Holiday Open House

COFFEEVILLE – Plans have been finalized by the Coffeeville Chamber of Commerce and the Yalobusha Extension Service for the Celebrate the Holidays Holiday House on October 25. The event will begin at 9 a.m. in the Yalobusha Multi-Purpose Building and includes arts and crafts booths, as well as food booths of local flavor.
There will be holiday arts and crafts for sale, along with other arts and crafts, and delicious food including baked and canned goodies. Demonstrations by several Yalobushians will be a crowd pleaser, as they present these demos every hour during the day. The children’s play area will include jumps and slides, so while mom and dad are shopping and visiting, the children can be entertained.
Local cooks are preparing food for the booths that you will want to be sure to stop and purchase to please your appetite. Local DJ Dewitt Moody will bring sounds of the oldies during the event, and to culminate the day’s events the Bouffants will entertain the crowd with a Celebration Day Concert and Dance from 6 to 9 p.m.
The Yalobusha Historical Society will also take part in the day’s events with an open house from noon to 4 p.m. They will sell chances on a $100 Walmart gift card and a hoop of cheese. The Coffeeville Library will also be open during the day for a book sale.
Event t-shirts are on sale for $15 by the Chamber of Commerce and may be purchased at the Coffeeville Insurance Agency or The Drug Store. The Chamber will be raffling a gun, which will be given away at 6 p.m. on event day. Tickets may be purchased in advance from any chamber member.
The Coffeeville Chamber appreciates their sponsors and if you see them be sure to thank them for helping to make this a special event in Coffeeville. Sponsors for the event are Mechanics Bank, Renasant Bank, Delta Distributors, The Drug Store, Coffeeville Insurance Agency, Coffeeville Courier, and TVEPA.
