FIRST MEETING: 1960 WV won 25-13

LAST MEETING:  2013 WV won 48-14

LAST WEEK: WV beat Independence 27-13, Palmer lost to Holly Springs 39-18

TEAM COMPARISONS: WV averages 29.6 on offense, and gives up 30.2 on defense. M.S. Palmer averages 10.5 offense and gives up 37.3 on defense.

NOTABLES: With the win over Independence the Devils secure a second place finish in 2-3A and guarantees a wining regular season. Palmer has been known as Marks High and Quitman County High. The only loss to the Red Dragons came in 1999. Both teams are former members of the Chickasaw Conference and 3-3A. A lost to WV will give Palmer a winless season, the sixth since 1981. The Quitman county school has had only six wining seasons since 1981.

PLAYOFF WATCH: With a win over Palmer the Devils will take on the winner of the Kemper County/Winona game in the first round of the Class 3A playoffs on Nov. 7. This will be Water Valley’s 22nd appearance in the play-offs.
