Mary Elizabeth Hardy Camp

WATER VALLEY—Mary Elizabeth Hardy Camp, age 93, died Monday, December 15, 2014, in Baptist  Memorial Hospital—North Mississippi at Oxford. Arrangements were incomplete at press time. Seven Oaks Funeral Home of Water Valley is in charge of arrangements.

John Wallace Forsyth, Jr.

WATER VALLEY—John Wallace Forsyth, Jr. died Monday, December 15, 2014, in Baptist Memorial Hospital—North Mississippi at Oxford.  Arrangements were incomplete at press time. Seven Oaks Funeral Home of Water Valley is in charge of arrangements.

Patricia “Patsy” Ruth Upchurch Hall

ATTICA, IND.—Patricia “Patsy” Ruth Upchurch Hall, age 70, passed away Tuesday, November 25, 2014, in Lafayette, Ind. Healthcare facility.
    Born July 22, 1944, in Yalobusha County, Patsy was a daughter of the late Earl C. and Ruth Cole Upchurch. She retired from the Fulbright & Jaworski Law firm in Houston, Texas. She had lived in Indiana for the past several years.
    Survivors include her daughter, Kathy Hall McCall of Attica, Ind.; a granddaughter, Kaitlyn Hall of Attica; two sisters, Betty Ann Upchurch Prestage of Cape Girardeau, Mo. and Kathlene Upchurch Rowsey of Batesville; and a sister-in-law, Patsy Peeples Upchurch of Coffeeville.
  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jimmy Bruce Hall, and brother, Billy Joe Upchurch.
  There will be a private family service at the Upchurch Family Cemetery at a later date.

Rosie Ann Hickey

WATER VALLEY—The funeral service for Rosie Ann Hickey was held December 5, 2014, at one o’clock in the afternoon in the House of Prayer Church of God in Christ, with Pastor Moses Wright officiating. Serenity-Daniels Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
    Born August 20, 1938, in Lafayette County, Mrs. Hickey was a daughter of the late Robert and Melvia Gates. She was a faithful church member and mother. She served on the Mother’s Board of House of Prayer C.O.G.I.C. in Water Valley. Her hobbies were fishing and reading the Bible.
    She is survived by her husband, Willie Hickey; one son, Andre Hickey of Water Valley; four grandchildren, Qanisha Rowsey, Quatisha Hickey, Quaterrious Hickey, Qy’dashya Hickey; one great-grandchild; sisters, Flossie (Charles) Ragland of Water Valley, Dorothy Smith of Oxford, Alma Hickinbottom of Abbeville, and Shirley (Billy) Mitchell of Taylor;  two brothers, Ervin Gates and Dywane Gates, both of Oxford;  three great aunts, Maudie  Rockette of Water Valley, Roberta Carothers of Water Valley, and Annie Curtis of Memphis; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Ben F. Patterson

OAKLAND—Ben F. Patterson died of natural causes December 12, 2014 at his home in Oakland.
He was born July 14, 1951, and was a son of the late Sadie Ellis and Golden Hervey, Sr.  Mr. Patterson was educated in the Coffeeville Schools and was a graduate of Coffeeville High School. He was a set-up at BorgWarner. Mr. Patterson was a member of Parish Grove M.B. Church, where he was a deacon. He was also a business owner.
The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. , Saturday, Dec. 20, in the Mt. Moriah Association Building, Coffeeville, with Pastor Grady McKinney, Jr. officiating. Burial will be in the Parish Grove Cemetery. Clark-Williams  Funeral Home of Grenada has charge of arrangements.
Survivors include three daughters, Vanessa Person of Water Valley, Stephane Patterson and Kimberly Patterson, both of Oakland;  a son, Baxter Swearengen of Batesville;  three sisters, Edna Mae Leland and Johnnie Butler, both of Oakland, and Nellie Jean Johnson of Milwaukee, Wis.;  three brothers, Robert Lee Patterson of Coffeeville, Golden Hervey, Jr. of Chicago, and Elliott  Patterson of Milwaukee.
