“We The People” has scheduled an open meeting Saturday, Jan. 31, at the Multi-purpose Building in Coffeeville at 1 p.m.
Melvin Gary, founder of “We The People,” reported all candidates seeking county offices are encouraged to attend the meeting to allow voters to learn more about them. The meeting agenda is to allow concerned citizens of Yalobusha county a chance to discuss and ask questions about issues facing the county.
“We The People” is an organization of concerned citizens formed for the purpose of insuring fair distribution of county resources, according to Gary.
“We presently empower members of the community through tutoring, job training and community beautification,” he explained.
Most recently the group worked to lease or purchase the county-owned building in Oakland that was formerly the old school.
