Kalvin O’Neal Caldwell

OXFORD—Kalvin O’Neal “Spanky” Caldwell, age 38, died Thursday, April 23, 2015, in Oxford.

            Born December 15, 1976, in Water Valley, he was the son of Mary Ann (Stanley) Pomerlee of Water Valley and Billy Russell Harris (Viola) of Coffeeville. Spanky was a graduate of Water Valley High School and a member of Union Hill C.M.E. Church in Water Valley. He worked in janitorial services at the North MS Regional Center and for Lafayette County Waste Management. He was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed wildlife, hunting and taking care of his dogs. He enjoyed working on cars, going to the track to watch car races, cooking and spending time with his family and friends.

            Visitation will be held Wednesday, April 29, from five until seven p.m. in Seven Oaks Funeral Home at Water Valley. The funeral service will be held Thursday, April 30, at 11 a.m. in Spring Hill North Church in Water Valley, with Rev. James Johnson officiating. Burial will be in the Union Hill Cemetery in Yalobusha County, with Jason Harris, Durtaveus Hervey, John Jones, Geraldo Roberson, Jarvis Roberson, and Mikel Brannon as pallbearers. Derrick Pomerlee, Michael Hervey, Johnny Morgan, Travis Harris, Jerome Harris, and Dale Woodard will be honorary pallbearers.

            Survivors include two daughters, Kalvia Caldwell (and her mother, Sharondaka Burt) and Kalee Olivia Caldwell (and her mother, Carneka Gipson), all of Oxford; his mother, Mary Ann (Stanley) Pomerlee of Water Valley; his father, Billy Russell (Viola) of Coffeeville; two sisters, Melissa Robinson (Rafaele) of Lawrenceville, Ga. and Yashunda Harris of Pascagoula; three brothers, Darren Pomerlee of Mt. Home, Idaho, Mario Woodard of Ashabulla, Ohio, and D’Aquista Woodard of Pascagoula; and a host of relatives, friends and five special children.

Andrew Lee McCammon

SCOBEY – Funeral services for Andrew Lee “Tiny“ McCammon, 12, of Scobey, were held Saturday, April 25, 2015 at the Charleston Middle School. Burial followed in Faith Fellowship Church Cemetery on Hwy 51 North of Grenada. Bro Benny Vance, pastor of Faith Fellowship Church, officiated. National Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

            Tiny died Wednesday, April 22, 2015 in Yalobusha County.

He was born on January 29, 2003 and was the son of William Earl McCammon, Jr. and Jennifer Lovelace McCammon of Scobey. Tiny was a fifth grade student at Charleston Middle School. He was a faithful member of Faith Fellowship Church. Tiny loved to be outside and was involved in youth league baseball.

            He is survived by his parents; one sister, Hannah Faith McCammon; two brothers, Tommy Keith “T.K.“ McCammon and Howard Neal McCammon all of Scobey; his grandparents, Mike Lovelace of Grenada, William E. and Edwardanne McCammon of Scobey; and one great-grandfather, Logan McMurtry of Grenada.

            He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Gracie Lovelace; his great-grandparents, H.Q. and Mildred Lovelace, Tip and Lorene McCammon, and John and Rose Marie Barnett.
