Thorn Tickets Almost Sold Out

WATER VALLEY – Main Street has recently seen an uptick in the amount of live musical performances available to the public. On Saturday, the next evolution begins with the inaugural performance event from Foster Music and Arts, owned by locals Eddie and Marie Foster.

The show will feature acclaimed artist Paul Thorn, a native Mississippian who has toured the world sharing his talents. An acclaimed singer and songwriter and a formidable guitarist and performer, Thorn has been pleasing crowds for years with his muscular brand of roots music – bluesy, rocking, and thoroughly Southern.

Thorn, who has released eight albums to date, has been lauded for his ability to charm an audience with wonderfully unique stories to go along with the wildly entertaining music. The Tupelo native rarely gets the chance to perform in his home state, and seems a perfect choice to kick-off the new venture.

The concert will take place at the Old School Theater, a revitalized 250-seat auditorium, complete with a new stage, sound lights, and seating located inside the Melonvine Marketplace at 817 South Main Street in Water Valley, which is owned by Cinnamon Foster. The building, which some may remember as “The Other Other Place” is another example of blending the historic aspects of Water Valley with a new, fresh idea. Foster Music & Arts will use it regularly to present both national and regional music acts with the stated mission of “cultivating the best live music in North Mississippi.”

All shows at the Old School Theater are sponsored by the The Caryl Com-pany and the Melonvine Marketplace. The Paul Thorn show is also sponsored by the generous support of The Radiosonde Museum and Turnage Drug Store of Water Valley. The show is general admission, tickets are $20 and they can be purchased online only.

At press time on Tuesday, there were only 55 available tickets remaining. You can be a part of this event and help Foster Music and Arts and the Old School Theater get off to a successful start by purchasing your tickets online at:
