Sherry Groner Hollowell
WATER VALLEY – Sherry Groner Hollowell, 59, passed away at her home in Water Valley on Tuesday, May 1, 2017.
Mrs. Hollowell was born in Taylor. She absolutely loved playing with her cats. Some of her favorite hobbies included taking care of her flowers, gardening, being outside and spending time with her family.
Visitation will be held Thursday, May 4, from 3 to 5 p.m. at Coleman Funeral Home. A memorial service will immediately follow at 5 p.m., also at Coleman Funeral Home. Adam Smith will be officiating.
She is survived by one son, Brandon “B” (Marie) Hollowell of Water Valley; one daughter, Tonia “Sissy” (Nathaniel) Hollowell of Oxford; four sisters, Brenda (Joel) Surrette of Batesville, Jane (Dale) Petty of Marietta, Edna (Jim) Spencer of Saltillo, and Charlotte (Jerry) Adams of Oxford; three grandsons, Devin Miller, Hayden Leamond, and Noah Johnsey, all of Oxford, and her boyfriend, Robert Garrett of Enid.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James Burlin Hollowell, and her parents.

Rebecca Lynn “Becky” Ross
WATER VALLEY—Rebecca Lynn “Becky” Ross, age 55, passed away Friday, April 28, 2017, in Sanctuary Hospice at Tupelo after a length battle with cancer.
Born November 6, 1961, to Quinton Yarbrough and Carolyn Foshee Yarbrough, she lived in the Paris area for a long time. Becky became a nurse and worked at Bramlett Elementary School in Oxford. She was a member of Delay Baptist Church in Oxford.
Visitation was held Sunday, April 30, from 4-8 p.m. in Delay Baptist Church, Oxford. The funeral service was held Monday, May 1, at 2 p.m. in the church with Bro. Sammy Gossett and Bro. Hal Arnold officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery with Ray Sockwell, Jr., Cain Foster, John Surrette, Johnny Clemmons, Harvey Jones, Dave Yarbrough, Barry Gossett and Jamie Foshee as pallbearers. Seven Oaks Funeral Home in Water Valley had charge of arrangements.
Becky is survived by her husband, David Ross of Paris; three daughters, Jennifer Thompson (David) of Paris, Janella Schoggin (Jeremy) of Oxford, and Jenna Ross of Paris; two sons, Jessie Surrette (Andrea) of Amory and Jared Surrette of Oxford; her parents, Quinton and Carolyn Yarbrough of Pairs; one sister, Janet Foster of Oxford; and nine grandchildren, Seth Surrette, Lily Surrette, Anna Surrette, Marissa Thompson, Alexis Thompson, Abigail Thompson, Quinton “Tyler” Schoggin, Chloe Simms, and Brentley Ross.
She was preceded in death by one sister, Judy Black.
The family requests that memorials be made to Delay Baptist Church, Sanctuary Hospice House of Tupelo, or to the American Cancer Society.
