Pearl Nelson Barnes

CALICO ROCK, ARK.—Pearl Nelson Barnes, age 94, passed away in Calico Rock, Ark. on May 24, 2017.

Born in Taylor, Mrs. Barnes was a daughter of the late Harold and Thelma Cooper and worked as a bookkeeper most of her life. Pearl was of the Lutheran  faith.

Graveside services were  held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, May 27, in Oak Hill Cemetery at  Water Valley with Steve Hentz officiating.

Survivors include her daughter, Gay Hentz, (Steve) of Mountain View, Ark.; and three grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by three brothers, H. D. Nelson, Jr., Billy Nelson and Kenny Sheets.


Braiden Haley Terry Ferguson

WATER VALLEY—Braiden Haley Terry Ferguson, age 30, passed away at  her home in Water Valley on Sunday, May 21, 2017.

Born in Oxford on September 20, 1986, Haley was a daughter of Johnny Frank Terry and Sandra “Sandy” Walker Terry. She received an associate’s degree from Northwest Community College and worked as an LPN for Oxford Orthopaedics and Sports Medicine, LLC. Haley lived her life for her husband and three children. They were the true joy of her life. She was the most loving, patient, and kind mother God ever made. She loved them with her whole heart and her devotion for them was endless. Haley was also a wonderful nurse and took great pleasure in her work at the clinic. She was a member of Sylva Rena Baptist Church.

Visitation was held Thursday, May 25, from 3-6 pm. in Seven Oaks Funeral Home. The funeral service was held at 11 a.m. Friday, May 26, in the Henry Chapel of the funeral home with Bro. Gerald Shook and Bro. Shane Crawford officiating. Burial was in Walker Cemetery.

Survivors include her husband, Josh Ferguson; a son, John Grant Boucher; and two daughters, Linen Blake Ferguson and Leighton Reese Ferguson, all of the home in Water Valley; her mother, Sandy Terry; her father, Johnny Terry; two brothers, John Bradley Terry and Jonathan Layth Terry; and her grandmother, Bonnie Dimock (Dale), all of Water Valley.

Memorials may be made in memory of Haley Ferguson to North MS Health Care Foundation, NICU, 830 S. Gloster, Tupelo, MS 38801.


Sharon Elaine Mackey

WATER VALLEY—Sharon Elaine Mackey, age 62, died at her home near Water Valley, on May 23, 2017, surrounded by her family.

Born June 12, 1954, in Lubbock, Texas, Mrs. Mackey was a daughter of the late Sonny Owens and Barbara Jean Crabb Owens. She enjoyed being a wonderful homemaker and a servant of the Lord in all that she did. She was a quilter, seamstress, and scrap booker, which allowed her to make treasured memories for her family and friends. Sharon was a member of Cornerstone Full Gospel Church of Water Valley.

Visitation was held Friday, May 26, from 1:30 until 3 p.m. in Cornerstone Full Gospel Church. The funeral service began at 3 p.m. with Bro. R. W. Moffett and Deona Benson officiating. Burial was in Oak Hill Cemetery with Robert Mackey, Bryan Lackey, Caleb Owen, Trevor McPeak, Christopher Hays and Kelton Stacks as pallbearers. Seven Oaks Funeral Home at Water Valley had charge of arrangements.

Survivors include her husband, Robert Mackey of Water Valley; two daughters, Shana Kaye Mackey and Stephanie Renee Mackey, both of Water Valley;  two sons, Robert Bryan Mackey (Aleisha) of Batesville and Jonathan Caleb Owen (Alicia) of Water Valley;  a sister, Tonya Jester of Austin, Texas; a brother, Michael Owens of Bonham, Texas; 16 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.


Pauline Lillie Weaver

WATER VALLEY—Pauline Lillie Weaver, age 96, passed away peacefully in Water Valley on May 23, 2017.

Born in Oakman, Ala., Mrs. Weaver was a daughter of the late James Leonard Smith and Annie Lou Muncher Smith. She married Rufus Weaver and became a homemaker for her family. She was a loving influence for her family and her grandchildren, and she was a wonderful cook. She enjoyed painting and the fellowship with her friends. Pauline was a faithful and devoted member of Water Valley First Baptist Church.

Visitation was held Saturday, May 27, from 9:30 until 11 a.m. in Seven Oaks Funeral Home. The funeral service began at 11 a.m. in the Henry Chapel of the funeral home with Rev. Erik Fearing officiating. Burial was in Memorial Park Cemetery in Memphis at 3:30 p.m.

Survivors include three grandchildren, Melissa Smith (Brad),  Rickey Weaver (Blair) and Mark Morton (Paula); and six great-grandchildren, Garrett Smith, Caylee Smith, Aubrel Weaver, Tiffany Morton, Brooke Morton, and Courtney Morton.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Rufus Weaver; three daughters, Ann Morton, Betty Jo Weaver, and Paula Kay Weaver; two sons, Rufus A. Weaver, Jr. and Rickey G. Weaver; and a brother, James William Smith.
