Brent O’Neal Gray
UTICA – Brent O’Neal Gray of Utica, MS went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, June 14th, 2018. He was 57 years old.
The funeral service was held Saturday, June 16, at Salem Baptist Church and graveside was at the church cemetery.
Brent was born in Jackson on October 11, 1960 to the late Charles and Shannon Gray of Utica, MS. He attended REBUL Academy. He continued his education at Mississippi State University, where he received both a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree. He owned a landscaping company for many years and later worked as the Yalobusha County Extension Agent. His life came full circle when he returned to REBUL, where he held many jobs through the years, including teacher, coach, and most recently headmaster. This position was more than just a job for him. He truly loved the school, the kids, and the community. He lived life to the fullest, and never met a stranger. He loved to laugh, and never passed on an opportunity to bless someone with a solo. As a teenager, he enjoyed playing football, and he was involved with horses and rodeo throughout his life.
Family was also a very important part of his life, and he had many lifelong friends. He is survived by two daughters: Lydia (Ben) and Heather, two brothers: Jeff (Barbara) and Michael (Cheryl), three nephews: John, Eli, and Tucker, as well as many aunts, uncles, and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to REBUL Academy to help continue the Agriculture program, as well as many other programs and visions that Brent had for the students there.
William ‘Bill’ Lester Shultice
BATESVILLE—William “Bill” Lester Shultice, age 67, passed away Sunday morning, June 10, 2018, in Baptist Memorial Hospital —North Mississippi at Oxford.
A memorial service, honoring Bill, was held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, June 12, in Martin Willingham Memorial Chapel of Wells Funeral Home in Batesville, with visitation beginning at 9 a.m. Dr. Paul Middleton officiated the service.
Born February 14, 1951 in Agana, Guam, Bill was a son of the late Rollin A. and Dolores Cruz Shultice. He was a quality control engineer at BorgWarner in Water Valley for 30 years. Bill served his country proudly in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War. He enjoyed fixing things, working in his yard, fishing, grilling for his family, and camping. He also loved traveling and riding his motorcycles. Most of all, Bill enjoyed teasing and making his grandchildren laugh.
Survivors include his wife of 46 years, Nancy Webster Shultice of Batesville; two sons, Wade Lester Shultice (Amber) of Starkville and Wesley Adam Shultice (Tonya) of Batesville; one sister, Dorothy Ruth Shultice of Sinajana, Guam; four grandchildren, Madison and Kamden Shultice, Ava Quay and Alivia Jolee (A.J.) Shultice.

McCOMB—Doy L. Palmer, 81, of McComb passed away June 9, 2018 in the Southwest Regional Medical Center at McComb. A memorial service will be announced at a later date. Hartman-Jones Funeral Home of McComb is in charge of arrangements.
