Jeffery Wayne Brewer
BATESVILLE—Jeffery Wayne “Jeff” Brewer, age 44, passed away Saturday, July 14, 2018, in Panola Medical Center at Batesville.
The funeral service was held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, July 17, in the Martin Willingham Memorial Chapel of Wells Funeral Home, with interment following in Curtis-Union Cemetery near Batesville. The family received friends Monday evening from 5-8 p.m. in the funeral home and also one hour prior to the service. Rev. John Howell, Jr. officiated the services.
Born June 20, 1974, in Batesville, Jeff was a son of Teresa Magliolo Browning and the late Johnny Wayne Brewer. He attended First Baptist Church in Batesville. Jeff was a delivery driver for Tri-State Auto in Walls. He was the happiest when he was entertaining his family and close friends at his home while grilling and cooking for everyone. Jeff was a giving person who always had time for someone in need. Most of all, he was a proud family man who put his family first.
Survivors include his wife, Rebecca Koszyk Brewer of Batesville; a daughter, Ashton Blaine Brewer of Batesville; one son, John Collins Brewer of Batesville; his mother, Teresa M. Browning of Batesville; a brother, Michael Scott Brewer of Tillatoba; and his greatest joy of all, grandson Kenneth Brantley “Kotton” Helmes.
Earl Michael Colclasure
WATER VALLEY—Earl Michael Colclasure, age 61, passed away in Yalobusha County Nursing Home at Water Valley on July 12, 2018.
Born April 2, 1957, he was a son of the late Lewis and Margie McKinney Colclasure. Michael had worked for the City of Water Valley and later was a maintenance technician for Yalobusha General Hospital. He enjoyed fishing and had a fondness for drag racing.
Visitation was held Friday, July 13, from six until eight o’clock in the evening in the Oak room of Seven Oaks Funeral Home. The funeral service was held at 2 p.m. Saturday, July 14, in the Henry Chapel of the funeral home, with interment in Mt. Liberty Church Cemetery.
Survivors include his daughters, Deana Stark (Ronnie) and Ashley Hobson, all of Water Valley; two brothers, Timmy Joe Colclasure and Louis Colclasure (Mary), all of Water Valley; and two grandchildren, Alexis Kordik and Dalton Kordik.
Michael was preceded in death by his grandson, Dawson Kordik.
Adeline Reid Hollister
WATER VALLEY— Adeline Reid Hollister was born and died on June 30, 2018. She was loved before she even arrived, and her much anticipated life was a gift to her mother, Lindsay Erin King, and her father, Shane William Hollister.
A graveside service was held at 9 a.m. Tuesday, July 3, in Oak Hill Cemetery with Bro. David Freeman officiating.
In addition to her parents, Adeline is survived by her grandparents, Tim and Andrea Rutherford, Mark and Karen Hollister, and Robert King; great-grandparents, Brent and Linda Aaron, Earl and Maybelle Rutherford, and Philip and Patricia King.
She was preceded in death by her great-grandparents, Russell and Jeannie Sutherland, Willard and Helen “Holly” Hollister, and Lucille Hollister.
Billy Derl Johnson
WATER VALLEY—Billy Derl Johnson, age 79, of Water Valley passed away in Baptist Memorial Hospital—North Mississippi at Oxford on July 11, 2018.
Born May 20, 1939, in Taylor, Billy was a son of the late Jessie Frank “Bill” and Eulela Ashmore Johnson. He was a long time salesman for Avent’s Dairy and loved playing his guitar, working with cattle, camping, and spending time with his grandchildren.
Visitation was held Friday, July 13, from five until seven o’clock in the evening in Seven Oaks Funeral Home. The funeral service was held Saturday, July 14, in Anchor Baptist Church, beginning at 11 a.m. with Bro. Gerald Shook and Bro. Dan Dickerson officiating. Interment was in the Anchor Church Cemetery.
Billy is survived by his wife of 60 years, Jane Wright Johnson of Water Valley; two sons, Brian Johnson (Andrea) and Chris Johnson, both of Collierville, Tenn.; one sister, Charlotte Hardy (Horace) of Water Valley; and four grandchildren, Brianna Johnson Flowers (Skyler), Cameron Johnson, Melody Johnson, and Brandon Johnson.
Jane Nelson Lee
GRENADA—Jane Nelson Lee, 74, of Grenada, passed away Sunday, July 1, 2018, in Grenada Living Center.
Born October 6, 1943, in Oakland, she was the daughter of the late Tom and Francis Richards Nelson. She had worked as a seamstress for many years at Pennaco Hosiery and was a devoted member of Airport Baptist Church.
The funeral service was held at 11 a.m. Thursday, July 5, in McKibben and Guinn Funeral Service at Grenada with Rev. Harvey Vance officiating. Interment followed in Goshen Cemetery near Coffeeville with Chipper Calhoon, Stephen Crenshaw, Daryl Grantham, Jason Meredith, and Dave Wendlick as pallbearers. The family received friends from 9 a.m. until service time.
Survivors include her husband, Wallace Lee; two sons, David Lee (Melissa) of Millington, Tenn. and Mike Lee (Robin) of Murfreesboro, Tenn.; three grandchildren, Nicholas Lee, Pate Lee, and Ayers Lee; and one brother Billy Gene Nelson of Oakland.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Ann Redwine, and two brothers, George Nelson and Edward Nelson.
Annette Fleming Thomas
HOULKA—Annette Fleming Thomas, 92, passed away July 11, 2018, in Yalobusha Nursing Home. She was born August 4, 1925.
A graveside service was held Saturday, July 14, at 2 p.m. in Rose Hill Cemetery. Tutor Memorial Funeral Home in Pontotoc had charge of arrangements.
Survivors are her sons, Charles Roger Thomas (BB) and Curtis Albert Thomas; a grandson, Chris Thomas; and a granddaughter, Carla Nell Thomas.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Roger Thomas; a son, David Ross Thomas; and a grandson, John David Thomas.
Daniel Blake Willis
BATESVILLE—Daniel Blake Willis, age 37, passed away Tuesday, July 10, 2018, at Panola Medical Center in Batesville.
The family received friends Thursday evening, July 12, from 5 until 8 p.m. in the chapel of Newsom Funeral Home at Charleston and again on Friday, July 13, from 1 p.m. until service time, beginning at 2 p.m. in the chapel of the funeral home. Interment followed in Wilkinson Family Cemetery, located in the Teasdale Community.
Daniel was a lead trainer for Insituform Technologies in Batesville. He loved alligator hunting, was a loving dad, son, brother, and a member of Friendship East Baptist Church.
Survivors include two sons, Austin Blake Willis and Landon Hayes Willis, both of Pope; his parents, Donnie and Brenda Wilkinson of Enid; one sister, Dyan Alexis Willis Wade (Larry Jr.) of Southaven; a brother David Ross Willis of Courtland; a niece, Taylor Wade of Southaven; a nephew, Lawrence Nolan Wade of Southaven; and his grandmother, Becky Wilkinson of Oakland.
He was preceded in death by his father, Ricky Joe Willis, grandparents, Porter Wilkinson and Alvin and Lexie McKee.
