Jimmy Lee Brown, Jr.

WATER VALLEY—Jimmy Lee Brown, Jr., age 57, died at his home October 7, 2018, in Water Valley.

He was born November 16, 1961, in  North Carolina to Mae Bolus Brown and the late Jimmy Lee Brown, Sr. Jimmy was always busy and loved working with his hands. He enjoyed tattooing, making wood sculptures and painting.

Along with his mother, Jimmy is survived by a daughter, Adrianna Tutor (Jimmy) of Water Valley; five sons, Justin Brown of Coffeeville, David Brown (Amber), Josh Galloway, Blake Galloway, and Joseph Byrd, all of Water Valley; and two sisters, Carola Peacock (Randy) of Coffeeville and Lisa Green of Water Valley.

Along with his father, Jimmy was preceded in death by a brother, Tommy Brown.

The family will hold a  memorial service at a later date.

William Joseph Buffkin

OAKLAND—William Joseph Buffkin, age 32, of Oakland died Friday, October 5, 2018.

He was born November 9, 1985, in Memphis to William Gary and Debra Buffkin. Along with singing, Will immensely enjoyed music, with a fondness for 70s, and 80s rock and roll.

Will is survived by his parents, William Gary of Oakland and Debra Buffkin of Pensacola, Fla.; two sisters, Erica Gary of Sedalia, Mo., and Serina Lazauskas (Jay) of Pensacola, Fla.; two brothers, Shayne Gary (Brenda) of Sydney, Australia and Dwain Buffkin (Melissa) of Senatobia.

Visitation and a memorial service were held Saturday, October 13, in the Henry Chapel of Seven Oaks Funeral Home.

Leonard Reed Ferguson

OXFORD—Leonard Reed Ferguson of Oxford died Octo
ber 10, 2018, in Baptist Memorial  Hospital—North Mississippi at Oxford.

Born April 26, 1928, in Tula, he was  a son of the late Virgel and Maude Trammel Ferguson. He enjoyed bowling and even won a championship with his team on his 90th birthday. Reed was a member of the Oasis Church of All Nations in Oxford.

Visitation was held Friday, October 12, in Seven Oaks Funeral Home with services on Saturday, October 13, at 10 a.m. in the Henry Chapel of the funeral home with Bro. R. W. Moffett officiating.

Survivors include two sons, Jackie Ferguson (Billie) and Donald Ferguson (Vickie), all of Water Valley; two daughters, Kathy Johnson of Oxford and Linda Sullivan (Wayne) of Atlanta. Ga.; one sister, Geraldine Woodard; one bother, Norman Ferguson (Nancy) of Water Valley; eight grandchildren, Melissa Russell, Brad Ferguson, Brandi McBride, Shea Hale, Josh Ferguson, Chad Ferguson, Michael Johnson, and Anston Johnson; and 11 great-grandchildren.

Along with his parents, Reed was preceded in death by three sisters, Francis Coaten, Marie Shaw and Opal Hollowell.

Brenda Sue Ross Pinkerton

WATER VALLEY—Brenda Sue Ross Pinkerton, 64, passed away October 6, 2018, in Baptist Memorial Hospital —North Mississippi at Oxford.

Born December 14, 1953, in Water Valley, Brenda was a daughter of the late Delbert and Catherine Black Ross. She loved reading and fishing, but nothing compared to her family. She loved her children to no end, but loved her grandchildren more. Her career took her to the highest level of the motel industry, where she was named Woman Pioneer of the Year. During this time, she was working near the Pentagon during the attack on 9/11. Her health began to fail later in life, which led to her residence in the Water Valley Nursing Home for two and a half years. She will be greatly missed.

Visitation was held Tuesday, October 9, from 1-3 p.m. in the Appleton Room at Seven Oaks Funeral Home. The service followed in the Henry Chapel of the funeral home with Bro. Gerald Shook officiating. Interment was in Mt. Liberty Cemetery.

Survivors include her husband, Gary Pinkerton of Water Valley; a son, Michael Caldwell of Tupelo; a daughter, Pricilla Dingler (Donnie) of Amory; five grandchildren; two brothers, Rufus D. Ross (Frances) of Oxford and Steve M. Ross of Water Valley.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Phyllis Baker.
