Elizabeth Ann Keel

WATER VALLEY—Elizabeth Ann Keel, 41, passed away Tuesday, April 2, 2019, in Yalobusha General Hospital at Water Valley.

Visitation was held Monday, April 8, from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. in Coleman Funeral Home of Oxford. A memorial service immediately followed at 1 p.m., also in the funeral home, with Bro. Keith Burney officiating.

Born in Baytown, Texas, Ms. Keel was known for living her life to the fullest. She had the incredible ability to touch the life of every person she came in contact with. She had an amazing personality and was able to brighten up the darkest days. Ms. Keel could always find a way to make something out of nothing. She was an extremely loving person, who  loved her family more than anything.

Survivors include her daughter, Molly Claire Carr of Water Valley; her son, Tyler Magee of Water Valley; her mother, Carolyn Way (Tony) of Water Valley; her father, James Keel of Calhoun City; two sisters, Tracie Mathis and Morgan Way, both of Norco, La.; two brothers, James R. Keel of Water Valley and Taylor Way (Katie) of Norco; her grandfather, Pete Tyler of Water Valley; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Ms. Keel was preceded in death by two grandmothers, Carolyn Tyler and Vera Keel.

Laticia McMinn

OXFORD—Laticia (Tish) McMinn, 67, of Oxford, died Tuesday, April 2, 2019, in Baptist Memorial Hospital—North Mississippi, at Oxford. 

Born October 31, 1951, Tish was a daughter of Leon McMinn and the late Reba Mills McMinn. She was retired and had many joys in her life, which included working puzzles, canning, fishing, but nothing compared to her love for her family. She was a member of Oasis Church in Oxford and had a tremendous desire to live  out the Lord’s teaching for serving others.

Visitation was held Friday, April 5, in the Gardiner Room at Seven Oaks Funeral Home from 5-7 p.m. The service began at 10 a.m. Saturday, April 6, in the Henry Chapel of the funeral home with Bro. Vincent Anderson officiating. Burial was in McMinn Cemetery, with Steve McMinn, Craig McMinn, Pate McMinn, Joseph Fowler, and Eric Thweatt as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers were Joe Fowler, Charlie Woods and Albert Willingham.

Survivors  include one son, Corey Smith of Brandon; her father, Leon McMinn of Oxford; two brothers, Steve McMinn of Oxford and Craig McMinn (Sandra) of Cookeville, Tenn.; three sisters, Denise Thweatt,  Phyllis Anderson (Craig), both of Oxford, and Cindy Fowler (Joe) of Centerville, Ala.

In addition to her mother, Tish was preceded in death by one grandson, Noah Smith.

Regina Darlene Simmons

WATER VALLEY—Regina Darlene Simmons, 56, passed away Tuesday, April 2, 2019, in her sister’s home at Water Valley.

Visitation was held Wednesday, April 3, from 5-7 p.m. in Coleman Funeral Home. The funeral service was held Thursday, April 4, at 11 a.m., with Bro. Sammy Gossett officiating, also in the funeral home. Interment was in Pine Flat Cemetery in Oxford.

Ms. Simmons was born in Water Valley. She was a member of Paris Baptist Church. She enjoyed traveling and went on cruises every chance she got. She had a natural love for children and nothing made her happier than spending time with her family. She enjoyed  having family over and cooking out. Ms. Simmons was especially proud of her grandchildren—they were her pride and joy.

Survivors include her daughter, Rosezette Bond (Henry) of Brandon; two sisters, Renea Kelley (Hosea) of Water Valley and Carolyn Cunningham (Dan) of Greenwood; a brother Danny Simmons (Jenelle) of Oxford; a granddaughter, Allie Bond of Brandon; a grandson, Tyler Bond, of Brandon; three nieces; a nephew; and two great-nieces.

Ms. Simmons was preceded in death by her father, Russell Simmons; her mother, Lillie Grose; and one sister, Diane Stevens.

Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.

Larry Townes

COFFEEVILLE—There will be a wake (visitation) for Bro. Larry Townes on Friday April 12, 2019, from 5 until 7  p.m. in Bethlehem Baptist Church at Coffeeville.

The funeral service will be held Saturday, April 13, at 11 a.m. in the Bethlehem Baptist Church at Coffeeville. Viewing of the body will be from 9-11 a.m., preceding the funeral service.
