David Ernest DeHetre
WATER VALLEY—David Ernest DeHetre, age 57, of Water Valley died peacefully Thursday, June 6, 2019, in Baptist Memorial Hospital—North Mississippi at Oxford.
Born April 6, 1962, in Boston Mass., he was a son of Charles DeHetre and the late Antonina Rashelof. He worked in the highway construction field for Lehman Roberts. His greatest joys were spending time with his family and traveling with his wife, Rosita.
A memorial service will be planned at a later date. Seven Oaks Funeral Home has been entrusted with arrangements.
Survivors include his wife of 27 years, Rosita DeHetre of Water Valley; his father, Charles DeHetre of Water Valley; a daughter, Antonina Coleman (Billy) of Houston, Texas; four sons, David DeHetre (Heather) of Houston, Texas, Kyle DeHetre of Pennsylvania, Nicholas DeHetre and Jonathan DeHetre, both of Water Valley; one step daughter, Sunshine Kinsey; two brothers, Chuck DeHetre and Dennis DeHetre; one sister, Donna DeHetre; and 11 grandchildren.
Along with his mother, David was preceded in death by one granddaughter, Virginia Coleman.
James Samuel “Sammy” Leister
OAKLAND—James Samuel “Sammy” Leister, 57, passed away Monday, June 3, 2019, in his home at Oakland.
Visitation was held Thursday, June 6, from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. in Coleman Funeral Home. The funeral service immediately followed at 1 p.m., also in the funeral home. Interment was in Abbeville Cemetery (County Road 201, Abbeville) with Coleman Funeral Home of Oxford in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Leister was born in Oxford. He loved spending time fishing and he also enjoyed creating things with his love of woodworking. But, his greatest love was his daughter, Brianna. He was a member of Oxford Church of Christ. Mr. Leister was employed as a house painter for Oliphant Paint for many years.
Survivors include his daughter, Brianna, of Oxford; his mother, Myrtis Jean Wimberly Tubbs Mills of Oakland; his stepfather Charles W. Mills of Oakland; a sister, Sandra Jean Operle of Abbeville; his brother, James Clayton of Jackson; and two stepbrothers, Ricky Mills of Crowder and Randy Mills of Oxford.
He was preceded in death by his father, Roy Samuel Leister.
