Gale Wright Arrington

OXFORD—Mrs. Gale Wright Arrington, 78, died Tuesday, April 7, 2020 in Baptist Memorial Hospital—North Mississippi at Oxford.

A private family graveside service will be held in College Hill Cemetery. Waller Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Born in Water Valley, Gale was the daughter of the late W. E. Wright, Sr. and Elizabeth Baddley Wright. She was the receptionist at Lafayette County High School and loved her job. Her favorite words in life were the words she said the most as she answered the phone, “Lafayette High School.” A faithful member of College Hill Presbyterian Church, Gale loved her church and Sunday school class. Her life was centered on family, church, and work. Along with her parents, she was precede in death by her husband, Jimmy Lynn Arrington; and a son, Alan Wright “Tank” Arrington.

Survivors include her son, Perry Arrington of Oxford; two daughters (in-law), Leah Arrington of Oxford and Gail Arrington of Florence, Ala.; a brother, W. E. Wright, Jr. of Southaven; the joys of her life, Abby Arrington and Austin (Josie) Arrington, both of Oxford; and her life-long friend, Jimmy Murphey of Oxford.

Eva Grace Savage

WATER VALLEY—Eva Grace Savage, age 43, of Water Valley died Thursday, April 9, 2020, at her home.

She was born February 25, 1977, in Lafayette County to Ann Savage and the late Buddy Savage. She led a simple life, but one she dearly loved. Her joys were many, which included animals, especially dogs, country music, and dancing, but nothing held a more special place in her heart than her family.

The family held a private graveside service in Old Union Baptist Church Cemetery in Lafayette County on Saturday, April 11, at 11 a.m., with Bro. Billy Childs officiating. Seven Oaks Funeral Home was honored to have been entrusted with arrangements.

Eva is survived by one son, Jim Malone of Oxford; a daughter, Laura Sanders of Pine Flat;  her mother, Ann Savage of Water Valley; two sisters, Angie McCormick (Nick) of Water Valley, and Kimberly Boyles (Kevin) of Oxford; one brother, Ronnie Savage of Water Valley;  a grandchild, Piper Malone; several nieces and nephews; and her life partner, Tim McMinn of Water Valley.

Along with her father, Eva was preceded in death by one sister, Tina Savage; and her grandparents, Culley Sledge and Paul and Irene Savage.
