See You Friday During Main Street’s First Christmas Cookie Stroll & Shop

Wow! How special it has been to experience Christmas in the Valley this season! After last year’s hiatus, holiday activity is back and better than ever! Hats off to the Chamber of Commerce for a successful Holiday Open House in November followed a few weeks later by one of, if not THE, best Christmas parades I’ve ever attended.

I, along with Arts Council director Becca Finley, had the pleasure of pulling the Grinch himself through the parade.  We witnessed Christmas magic firsthand through the eyes and smiles of bystanders of ALL ages as we drove by and they waved and shouted, “Merry Christmas!”  Seeing the amount of people out shopping local and enjoying Christmas in the Valley, the carriage rides trotting through downtown under the Christmas lights, the tree lighting and Christmas music filling the streets from the bandstand, “snow” falling from the BTC… truly a special experience!

I am excited to work with our local businesses to bring another special holiday experience this Friday night as we introduce Water Valley Main Street’s first Christmas Cookie Stroll & Shop! Come stroll with us through our charming downtown while enjoying free cookies at participating businesses.  See what Water Valley has to offer and get that last minute holiday shopping done while our businesses are open late for you!  Meet friends and family for dinner at one of our restaurants in town before, after, or while you cookie stroll.

I am super excited to invite you to visit the Mechanics Bank Community Room to see the Christmas Village brought to us by the Water Valley Town & Country Garden Club.  It is beautiful, and I want to thank the ladies of Town & Country Garden Club and Mechanics Bank for working together to have this exhibit open for us during the Cookie Stroll! It’s a Christmas must-see if you haven’t yet.

I also heard Santa, Mrs. Claus, and the Grinch will be downtown during Cookie Stroll for one last stop in the Valley this season.  You want to make plans to be out and about this Friday night in Water Valley.  Most importantly, our local businesses have put a lot of effort into decorating their storefronts and getting the merchandise out for you.  Shops and restaurants are staying open late again for your convenience this Friday, and after a tough year, lets support them this holiday season and as we go into 2022!

Christmas Cookie Stroll & Shop will be from 4 to 8 p.m., and it will be something everyone can enjoy.  What sounds better than cookies and holiday shopping as you stroll under the lights in our beautiful town the week before Christmas? Nothing.  Look for cookies at these stops:
