Zach Boyd
COFFEEVILLE – Zach Boyd, age 17, of Coffeeville, passed away Tuesday, January 4, 2022 from injuries sustained in an automobile accident near Coffeeville. Arrangements are incomplete and will be announced by McKibben and Guinn Funeral Service.
Chris Kevin Johnson
COLLIERVILLE – Chris Kevin Johnson, age 62, of Collierville, Tenn. died Wednesday, January 5, 2022, at Regional One Medical Center in Memphis, Tenn. from injuries sustained in an automobile accident.
Chris was born November 28, 1959, in Oxford to the late Billy and Jane Wright Johnson. He was a very outgoing man who never met a stranger and was described as a great conversationalist. After graduating high school, Chris continued his education at Northwest Mississippi Community College. He transferred to the University of Mississippi where he graduated in 1987 with a bachelors degree in accounting. He began his working career at Motts Incorporated in Water Valley where he applied his knowledge of accounting. Later he shifted into industrial sales ,ultimately working for MIC sales in Memphis. In his spare time he loved riding his Harley and listening to music, but the family he loved took priority over anything else in his life.
Visitation is planned for Saturday, January 15, in the Gardiner Room at Seven Oaks Funeral Home from noon until 2 p.m. Services will immediately follow at 2 p.m. in the Henry Chapel of Seven Oaks with Bro. Gerald Shook officiating. Burial will be in Anchor Cemetery.
Chris is survived by his wife, Martha Johnson of Collierville, Tenn.; two sons, Brandon Johnson of Cleveland, Ohio and Cameron Johnson of Collierville, Tenn.; one brother, Brian Johnson (Andrea) of Collierville, Tenn.; two nieces, Brianna Flowers (Skyler) and Melody Johnson; step children Chris O’Dell (Cassie), Joe O’Dell, Amber Hale; step grandchildren Heather Hendricks (Harley), Cloie Taylor and Steven Hale; one step great-grandson, James Hervey; and Uncle Horace and Aunt Charlotte Hardy.
As addition to his parents, Chris was preceded in death by his former wife, Shadi Johnson.
Richie Lynn Phillips Lott
WATER VALLEY – Richie Lynn Phillips Lott, age 55, of Water Valley, died unexpectedly Wednesday, January 5, 2022, in her home. She was born March 11, 1966, in Water Valley to the late Jessie and Anna Mae (Savage) Phillips.
Early in her career, Richie worked in the quality control department at Washington Furniture Factory in Pontotoc where she was affectionately known as “Big Mama.” Later she worked at the Mississippi State Veterans Home in Oxford where she was able to show her true character in the way she loved and treated the residents. With her big heart and compassion, it was said she never met a stranger and was always willing to help others in need.
With a green thumb, Richie loved growing and tending to her plants. She also loved animals and playing solitaire on her phone. But absolutely nothing held a greater place in her heart than that of her family, especially her 16 month-old granddaughter, Courtney.
Visitation was held Monday, January 10, in the Gardiner Room at Seven Oaks Funeral Home. Services were held in the Henry Chapel of Seven Oaks. Burial was in Pine Flat Cemetery in Lafayette County.
Richie is survived by two sons, Steven and Jeffery Clements, both of Water Valley; two brothers, Mike Phillips (Dana) of Pontotoc and Steve Phillips (Theresa) of Baldwin; two sisters, Kathy Schmitz of Water Valley and Jessica Nicholson (Kirk) of Nashville, Tenn.; and one grand-daughter, Courtney Anna-Lyn Clements.
Richie was preceded in death by both of her parents.
