Timothy McMinn
WATER VALLEY – Timothy “Tim” McMinn, age 65, of Water Valley, MS passed from this life Sunday, March 6, 2022, at the Yalobusha County Nursing Home. Tim, age 65, was born January 5, 1957, in Memphis, Tenn. to Dennis McMinn and the late Loy (McCullar) McMinn.
Tim was always a lover of sports and pitched for his team in high school. After graduation, he started his working career at Holley Carburetor as a production set-up man. After 40-plus years retired from Borg Warner. With his affinity for sports, he coached his children’s youth teams when they were small. Tim also loved playing golf, hunting and fishing.
A graveside service will be held Thursday, March 10, at 2 p.m. in Jumpers Chapel Cemetery. Seven Oaks Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Tim is survived by two daughters, Chasity McMinn (John) of Marion, Ark. and Kirstyn McMinn of Olive Branch; his father, Dennis McMinn of Water Valley; two brothers, Alan McMinn and Scott McMinn, both of Memphis; and four grandchildren.
Tim was preceded in death by his son, Zane McMinn; his mother, Loy McMinn; and one brother, Gary McMinn.
Floyd Lewis Turner Jr.
WATER VALLEY – Floyd Lewis Turner, Jr., age 66, of Water Valley died unexpectedly Sunday, February 27, 2022, in Vicksburg. He was born April 3, 1955, in Sledge, MS to the late Floyd Sr. and Ruby Lee (Bowels) Turner.
Floyd was the kind of man that led a simple life and kept to himself. After leaving school, he learned about tree trimming and became a tree surgeon. He followed this career until he was injured on the job and became disabled. He loved fishing, hunting and hanging out with his brothers.
Services were held at 1 p.m. on Friday, March 4, in Henry Chapel at Seven Oaks Funeral Home with burial at Oak Hill Cemetery. Bro Raymond Aven officiated.
Floyd is survived by two sons, Kylee Wade Turner (Amy) of St. Augustine, Fla. and Floyd Turner, III; two daughters, Lucy Turner of Vicksburg and Aimee Starnes (Chris) of Palm Beach, Fla.; three brothers, John Roger Dale Turner (Mary Jane) of Bruce, Stephen Turner of Tupelo and Rick McCuan (Tammy) of Water Valley; nine grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
As well as his parents, Floyd was preceded in death by three brothers, Peter Turner, Jonathan Turner, Joseph Turner; and two sisters, Janie Sue Smith and Pamela McCuan.
