I want to wish all you fathers a wonderful Father’s Day filled with a lot of love! I sure miss my daddy. He was a mother and father to us all of our young life. He’s gone now, but I know he has a extra jewel in his crown for all his hard work in raising us four children. Thank you daddy!
Josh Harrison spent last week at Ole Miss. He was selected to attend the Mississippi Forge Forward Summer Experience. He experienced the Ole Miss Haley Barbour Center for Manufacturing Excellence’s 12,000 square foot factory floor and learned about career paths in the defense manufacturing industry from companies such as Raytheon Technologies and Winchester Ammunition. Josh reported he really enjoyed learning about engineering and manufacturing.
Debbie and Tommy McCool visited with her daddy, Ray Bell, and sister, Karen, Saturday. Sunday they went to church and then tackled yard work.
Kimberly and Jason Beavers took their daughters, Caitlyn and Hannah, and their niece, Allison Dukes, to Thunder on Water Saturday. I know the girls had a good time riding the rides.
Martha Box had a week with two doctor visits for vision check ups, music and singing on the square in Grenada Tuesday night. On Thursday evening she enjoyed a visit with old and new friends for a Bike Meet. “Great laughter and relaxation this ole busy body needed,” she said, adding it brought the dance right out of her.
Sunday she took the day off, only cooking a roast while sitting down a couple of hours; then up working 20 to 30 minutes, then back to sit and watching movies. I call that a nothing day she said, except prayer, worship and exercise was exceptional.
Sheila Jackson and granddaughter, Mali Jarrell, visited Clarice Dahl, Pam Pipkin and Bobbie Kennedy Thursday night and again Saturday morning.
Julia Kerr had a great time at the Brooks and Dunn Reboot tour at the Cajundome on June 9th in Lafayette, La.
Love and sympathy to Peggy Bailey in the loss of her aunt, Mavis Howell. Mrs. Howell was living in Texas with her family and was to celebrate her 99th birthday a day after she passed away.
Rich, Jennifer and Bailey Ross visited Eugene, Peggy and Erik Bailey Sunday afternoon and cut their grass for them.
Our front porch visitors this week were Jason Beavers, Harvey Darby, Donna Garripoli and Diane Dukes.
Happy belated birthday to my precious great nephew, Hadley Rye, who celebrated June 12. I called him and sang the happy birthday song. Alice Beverly McBride celebrated on the 13th; my sweet neighbor, Lila Myrick, Bro. Rickey Harris and Allison Dukes share a birthday on the 14th; Donna McMillian Ginn and David McMillan, Tillatoba twins from way back, celebrate the 16th; Billy Stevens on the 18th; Bro. Jimmy Martian the 21st; and Glen Rodgers the 22nd. I wish all of you a blessed birthday!
I woke up early Monday morning with a crick in my neck and it is painful. I googled to see if they had some good home remedies and I found quite a few, so I’m off to try one or two of them. Wish me luck!
Thought for the day… Happiness is like honey, you can pass it around but some will stick to you
