Congratulations to Jordan and Lacey Bell on their second baby boy. Jack Henry Bell made his appearance Friday, July 15 about mid-afternoon weighing seven pounds, one ounce. He was 20 and one-half inches long. Welcoming his baby brother home was big brother, Wyatt. Phillip and Susan Bell and Hank and Ann Vaughn, all of Caledonia, are the proud grandparents. The proud great grandmother is Ruby Bell of Caledonia.
Phil and Ginger Harrison and boys, Jake and Josh, and Phil’s mother, Diane Hill, had an awesome weekend filled with tasty food, shopping and 4-H! Shout out to Josh Harrison! Josh placed eighth in the State 4-H .22 pistol shooting competition.
“We are proud of you Josh,” reported his mother, Ginger. Josh’s fellow 4-H friend, Matthew Bardo, won third place overall and is headed to Nationals! The Harrisons extend a very special thank you to their volunteer coach, Philip Zampella! We appreciate you and your time. I am very proud of all the Yalobusha County 4-H!
Thank you so much for the cucumbers, Eugene and Peggy Bailey, that you sent to us by way of Ruth Jane Hailey. I have been craving cucumbers. Peggy, tell Eugene not to start any rumors when he reads I was craving cucumbers!
Our lunch guest Sunday was daughter, Donna Garripoli, and son, Tim Sullivan. I fixed fresh peas, cabbage and smoked sausage, cornbread and banana pudding.
Martha Box was blessed with a great service at the Batesville Assembly of God Church, where her niece, Melanie Stephens, attends. Martha said they enjoyed a great message and a great meal afterwards. She added that they were fed a big supper by Bobby McClanahan and Michelle Clolinger. “Yes, four letter word all next week …DIET!” Martha added.
Martha shared her physical therapy is completed with great results. She also had a good visit with Gloria Mitchell and Ann Summers during Bike Nite at Grenada. Friday, she was rescued from having a heat stroke by her brother, Jesse Wortham.
Martha went over to Ginger’s house to feed the kitty while they were out of town. She said the dog pushed the door closed as she stepped out on the back porch. Yep, locked out on a sky high porch with high rails and no step down. Martha said thank heavens for having a phone on her.
Sunday afternoon Sam Pullen and his grandmother, Diane Dukes, took little Joanna Pullen to the George Cossar Park for a play afternoon. Joanna’s mother, Anna Pullen, left Sunday going to Murfreesboro, Tenn. to attend school for a week.
Happy birthday to Patricia Lindsey on the 21st; Bro. Mike Ramage on the 23rd; Martha Box, Pattie Ramage, Ernie Holliday and my sweet childhood friend, Sandra Craig Anderson, all share a birthday on the 24th; Sadie Harper on the 26th; and Malenda Harris Meacham on the 27th! I pray you all have a wonderful day celebrating.
Someone I know is going around town sporting a new GMC Arcadia Denali. It looks like Diane Dukes sitting behind the wheel. Diane’s son, Dale Duke,s visited with her a little while Sunday afternoon.
Please pray for Jesse Tillman. He is back in the emergency room at the VA with AFib and chest pain. This is after his open heart surgery.
Prayers for Doris Hoop’s son, Mike Crow, who took ill after vacationing in Missouri. Mike floated down the Current River and got sick. He was taken to the emergency room in Popular Bluff and after examining him, he was sent home. A week later he was air lifted to the Med in Memphis. Mike has been there several days and they are still doing tests.
Since Tuesday is Tommy McCool’s birthday, Wanda Crawford and Debbie, his wife, planned to take him to the movie. His daughter Kimberly and son-in- law, Jason Beavers had a cookout for him Sunday. I know they all had a good time.
Thought for the day…When you make your mark in the world, watch out for the guys with the erasers!
