Dale Gene Howard

OXFORD – Dale Gene Howard, age 75, of Oxford passed away Sunday, August 14, 2022, at his home. He was born February 21, 1947, in Tennessee to J.C. and Dorothy (Odell) Howard.

Mr. Howard enjoyed being outdoors, often fishing and hunting whenever the chance arose. He enjoyed spending his days on his front porch watching all the wildlife, especially his hummingbirds. When he wasn’t on his porch, you could find Mr. Howard watching NCIS New Orleans or Hawaii Five-0.

In his earlier years, Mr. Howard enjoyed taking his family camping and skiing. He retired from the Memphis Fire Department after serving them faithfully for 25 years. He will be dearly missed by all those that loved and cherished him.

Visitation was held Friday, August 19, at Seven Oaks Funeral Home. The service immediately followed at noon in the Henry Chapel with Bro. Roger Howell officiating. Interment was in Yellow Leaf Cemetery in Oxford.
Dale is survived by his children, Renee (Clay) Hadaway, of Robertsdale, Ala. and Greg (Machelle) Howard, of Oxford; his grandchildren, Kala Howard, Samantha Coleman, Catherine Howard and Courtney Hallford; his great-grandchildren, K.J. Means, Anna Cook, Kinslee Coleman, Rhett Coleman, Odin Rorie and Gavin Curry; and his brothers, Kenneth (Linda Faye) Howard and Ricky (Shirley Ann) Howard.

Dale was preceded in death by his wife, Linda Jo Howard; his parents, J.C Howard and Dorothy Howard; and his grandson, Cody Hallford.

Tolie Winfred Morgan, Jr.

WATER VALLEY – Tolie Winfred Morgan, Jr. departed this life on Saturday, August 13, 2022, at Baptist East Hospital in Memphis. He was 76 years old.
Winfred was born December 9, 1945, in Panola County to the late Tolie Winfred Morgan, Sr. and Velma Carothers Morgan. He received his education at Patton Lane High School in Batesville. After 15 years of loyal service, he retired from BorgWarner in 2008. Winfred was a lover of wheels and motors. Winfred and Billie Campbell were united in holy matrimony on June 29, 1969, and three amazing children were born to this union.

A wake was held on Wednesday, August 17, at Pleasant Green M.B. Church with the service following at 1 p.m. Rev. Preston Gleeton presided. Seven Oaks Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Winfred is survived by his wife of 53 years, Billie Morgan; two sons, Craig and Terrance Morgan both of Courtland; one daughter Ytalia (Rodney) Shaw of Pope; one brother, Lee (Janie) Morgan of Courtland; one sister, Dora Winters also of Courtland; five grandchildren, Breanna, Jeremiah, Trinity, Terrance Jr, and Aubreigh Morgan; and a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.

In addition to his parents, Winfred was preceded in death by one grandson, Elijah Morgan.

Timmy Lee Tucker

GULFPORT – Timmy Lee (Tim) Tucker, age 53, of Gulfport passed from this life Tuesday, August 16, 2022, at University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson, MS. He was born December 20, 1968, in Sardis, MS to Elmer and Virginia (Craft) Tucker.

Tim worked for Yalobusha County as a heavy equipment operator, and retired after 23 years of service. Tim enjoyed hunting, fishing, woodworking and cooking. He was well known for his barbecue ribs and wings. But nothing meant any more to him than the family he loved.

Visitation was held Saturday, August 20, in the Gardiner Room at Seven Oaks Funeral Home from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. Funeral service will immediately follow at 1 p.m. with Bro. Billy Childs officiating.

Timmy is survived by three sons, Jay Tucker (Amanda), Robert Tucker (Jessica) and Justin Tucker; four step-children, Chelsea Thweatt (Cory), Brandy Myrick, Chase Wilbourn, Brittney Wilbourn; 16 grandchildren; one sister, Cindy Russell (Chuck); and three brothers Billy Tucker (Lisa), Chuck Tucker (Angie) and Jerry Tucker (Peggy).

As well as his parents, Tim was preceded in death by two grandsons, Landen Tucker and Waylon Tucker.
