Nancy Buckley Faulkner
WATER VALLEY – Nancy Buckley Faulkner, 103, passed away Friday, September 23, 2022, in Oxford.
Born September 9, 1919, in Ruleville, she was a daughter of Jake and Fannie (Denny) Buckley. Nancy obtained her nursing degree from the Baptist
Memorial Hospital School of Nursing in Memphis and spent the majority of her career as a private duty nurse. She was a member of Sylva Rena Baptist Church in Water Valley.
Nancy is described by her family as being independent, quiet and unassuming. She loved the Atlanta Braves and was a fierce competitor. She enjoyed playing the card game, Shanghai, and was the bingo champion at her assisted-living community. But above all else, she loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. Sundays were often spent together over a meal, a game of cards or just enjoying each other’s company. She will be dearly missed by all those that loved and cherished her.
Visitation was held Monday, September 26, at Seven Oaks Funeral Home from 11 a.m. until noon in the Gardiner Room. Funeral Services followed at noon in the Henry Chapel with Chris McCluskey officiating. Interment was at Sylva Rena Cemetery in Water Valley.
Nancy is survived by her children Nancy (Jim) Burress and Anita (Lewis) Langdon; her grandchildren, Sandra (Steve) McCluskey, Carolyn (George) Rutherford, Greg (Erin) Burress, Susan (Jim) Keeley, Steve (Kellie) Burress, Amanda Sharp, Ashlee (Tate) Anderson and Jason Langdon; 18 great-grandchildren; and 10 great-great-grandchildren. She is also survived by a son-in-law Dale Dimock; and two sisters, Eleanor Trimble, 108, and Faye Stratton, 98.
Nancy was preceded in death by her husband of 42 years, Ottis Faulkner; her daughter, Lila Dimock; and her parents, Jake and Fannie Buckley.
Luther Gene Folson, Sr.
WATER VALLEY – Luther Gene Folson Sr. departed this life on September 21, 2022. He was born in Water Valley on April 8, 1943, to the late George W. Folson and Ilene (Sugarloo) Morgan Folson. He graduated from Davidson High School, Mississippi Industrial College, and The University of Mississippi where he earned a Master of Education.
Luther Sr. gave his life to Christ at an early age by joining Sanders Chapel Church. Luther taught school for 25 years at several different schools in Marks, Grenada, Oakland and Coffeeville. He was a carpenter for most of his life.
He leaves to cherish his memory three daughters Vanessa Townsend of Water Valley, Marchelle Williams of Dallas, Texas and Lucy Folson of Memphis, Tenn.; two sons Luther Gene Folson Jr. (Nicole) of Water Valley and Tyrone Folson of Oxford; one brother, Freddie Folson (Mary Ann) of Water Valley; one sister-in-law, Lucille Yates of Minneapolis, Minn.; four brothers-in-law, Dallas Walton of Minneapolis, Minn.; Lloyd Walton Jr. (Rosie) and Chancey Walton, both of Water Valley, and Clay Walton (Florence) of Oakland; and a host of grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Willie Ester Folson; his parents, George W. Folson and Ilene Morgan Folson; two sisters, Everlene Hawkins and Ella Qua Hall; three brothers, George W. Folson, Rufus Folson and Charles Folson; and one son-in-law, James Lewis Townsend Sr.
A wake will be held on Friday, September 30, at Greater Sanders Chapel from 6 until 8 p.m. Services will be held at Greater Sanders Chapel Church at 11 a.m. on Saturday, October 1 with repast to follow at the church.
Wallace Naramore
WATER VALLEY – Wallace Naramore, age 75, passed away Friday, September 23, 2022, at the Yalobusha County Nursing Home in Water Valley.
He was born October 24, 1946, in Byhaila to Oscar and Minnie Naramore. Wallace enjoyed playing bingo, and was very competitive. When he wasn’t playing his favorite game, he could be found watching wrestling and westerns. He loved nothing more then spending time with his family and friends. He will be dearly missed.
Visitation was held Tuesday, September 27, in the Gardiner Room at Seven Oaks Funeral Home from 2 to 3 p.m. The service followed in the Henry Chapel. Interment was in New El Bethel Cemetery.
Wallace is survived by his brother, Floyd Naramore; his sisters-in-law, Betty Kay Naramore and Lisa Naramore; a host of nieces and nephews; and special friends, James, Jr. and Cathy Potts.
Wallace was preceded in death by his parents, Oscar and Minnie Naramore, and seven siblings.
Pamela Marline Toler
Pamela Marline Toler, 59, of Water Valley, passed away on Sunday, September 18, 2022, at Methodist University Hospital in Memphis, Tenn..
Pam was born on September 12, 1963, in Port Arthur, Texas to Marline Calcote Toler and Walter B. Toler. She graduated from Nederland High School in 1982 and Lamar University in 1987 with a Bachelor of Science in Biology and Bachelor of Science in Chemistry. Pam grew up in the United Methodist Temple and was a current church member of Freedom Place in Water Valley.
She was an environmental, health and safety corporate manager in multiple manufacturing companies for automotive and trucking industries; New Way Trucks in Booneville,and BorgWarner in Water Valley. She also was a business owner and entrepreneur of HOTWORX Mid-County and HOTWORX Beaumont infra-red fitness studios. Pam loved to travel and entertain; she enjoyed gourmet cooking, home decorating and flower gardening. She had a very strong faith which carried her through her long seven year battle with cancer. Pam was a caring and devoted daughter, sister and companion who loved helping people and will be deeply missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing her.
Survivors include her mother, Marline Calcote Toler of Nederland; fiancé Jamie Hickman of Water Valley; brother, Walter David Toler and his wife, Deborah, of Richardson, Texas and their children, Lauren and Matthew; sister, Jill Toler Lawrence and her husband, Donald, of Port Neches and their children, Eric Lawrence and Rachel Lawrence Maling and her husband Thomas.
Pam was preceded in death by her father, Walter Benjamin Toler; grandparents, Edward G. and Elizabeth Cole Toler, Foster Albert and Ada Mae Sadler Calcote.
A gathering of friends and family was held from noon until 2 p.m. on Tuesday, September 27, at Melancon Funeral Home in Nederland, Texas. Graveside services followed at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday at Oak Bluff Memorial Park in Port Neches, Texas. Serving as pallbearers were Matthew Toler, Eric Lawrence, Thomas Maling, Greg Wallace, Caleb Wallace and Richard Orgeron.
