Correction from last weeks news: Diane Dukes had a barn sink installed instead of a bar sink. I don’t know what my mind was thinking when I said it was a bar sink!
JR Dukes says Grenada Lake bass fishing is hot right now. He caught a 4.82 pound bass Thursday afternoon. That sure would be good all fried up!
Jake Harrison came home from school this past weekend. He went with his mom and dad, Ginger and Phil Harrison, to 333 Restaurant where Josh Harrison and his friend, Braden Sprayberry, were playing guitar and singing Saturday night.
“We all had a great time,” said Ginger. “And the boys did a great job.”
Daisy Isbell went to the flea market in Batesville Saturday and enjoyed seeing everything. She and Mickey planted their garden Friday. Daisy said she saw Mike and Gayle Flowers and Joyce Flowers Holmes and husband, Danny Holmes, getting plants in Charleston for their garden also.
Congratulations to Cole Burlison, who has purchased a new small shed to turn into a little house. He will love that, I’m sure. His mom, Daisy, will have it all decorated nice for him.
Deborah McCool enjoyed visiting with her dad, Ray Bell, on Saturday, Her daughter, Angela Dukes, was there visiting also.
She said, “Tommy had to work Sunday, which normally he doesn’t so I just hung around the house.”
When Tommy came home, the crew enjoyed playing with a new addition to their family, a little girl dachshund named “CoCo.” She is almost two months old, very cute and playful.
“Gonna be a good companion for our Shih tzu, “‘Baby,’” she thinks!
I’m sure they will be good company for each other. If you get tired of her, just send her on down to my house.
Visiting Darlene Moorman Sunday was her grandson, Richard Beck, from Amory. He was accompanied by his family including Zenda, his wife; great-grandson, JD Beck; and great granddaughters Aubrey Beck and three-month-old Mae Mae Beck. Richard came in with enough pizza to feed an army, Darlene added.
Earlier Friday and Saturday, Darlene had her great grandson and they had a ball. But her 24-year-old had to go to the emergency room in Charleston after a brown recluse spider bite him on his right leg. He was seen by Dr. Kelly.
Those spider bites are terrible! I hope you have a fast healing!
Elisa Beck was also a visitor.
Sadie Harper got a shot in her shoulder Wednesday and it has helped with the pain. Milton, her husband, is having a CT on his stomach Tuesday.
I say all of us older folks need to hurry and feel better because it is time to work up our gardens! We thought we would save on groceries by planting a few things but after purchasing the plants, we thought we were going to have to take out a loan! Goodness they went up big time this year!
Martha Box was up and at em’ early Monday morning – way before I got up. She reported she is blessed with such good that it helps her with the bad. Bad is as she pulled over to help a woman who hit a unmarked dug-out hole in the road and wrecked. Said she was not going fast but hurt her car pretty bad. The good, on Saturday night she had a good time at 333 patio listening to her grandson, Josh Harrison, and his friend singing.
Happy seventh anniversary to Phil and Laurie Craig Cordel on the 23rd; and happy sixth anniversary to Tim and Emily Little on the 23.
Last Tuesday I made a road trip to Olive Branch to deliver a swing with my daughter, Donna, and granddaughter, Miranda. We stopped by a junk store in Coldwater and I was in hog heaven for a little while. I must go back and really check it out!
Happy belated birthday to Joseph Little, who celebrated the 21st; Jennifer Bowman on the 24th; Tim Little on the 28th; and closing out our April birthdays is Renee Wortham, who celebrates the 30th. I pray you all have a blessed birthday!
Thought for the day….Inspiration does exist, but it must find you working.
