The Junior Auxiliary of Water Valley hosted their 3rd Annual Charity Golf Tournament last weekend at Yalobusha Country Club (YCC). While there were a few sprinkles throughout the afternoon, it turned out to be a successful day for golf and a good time was had by all.
The tournament kicked off promptly at 9 a.m. and consisted of eight teams divided into two flights. During lunch, which was provided by the YCC, Joseph Flippin led the ever-exciting and rowdy Calcutta where golfers placed bets on the winning teams in each flight. This might just be our favorite part of the tournament! The golfer’s competitive spirit was certainly evident.

In Flight 2, Team Dale #2 won first place. The team consisted of Jo Kinsella, Allan Keller, John Wampler and Matt Harrington.
“It was an amazing day,” said project chair Monique Horan. “We cannot pull of this charity golf tournament without the support of our generous donors and golfers. This community’s generosity and support of our mission is truly remarkable! While the top teams took home some great prizes, the real winners of this event are the children of Yalobusha County.”
For the second year in a row, Team Mechanics Bank placed 1st in Flight 1 and consisted of golfers Cooper Clement, Tyler Hill, Jeff Bynum and Lance Clement; while Team Dale #1 placed second and consisted of Dale Richard, James Richard, Ryan Hill and Tyron Dale Hill.
In Flight 2, Team Dale #2 won first place and consisted of Jo Kinsella, Allan Keller, John Wampler and Matt Harrington; while Team Cook placed second and consisted of Russell Cook, Tyler McKrithen and Drake Harris.
Jeff Griffin won Closest to the Pin and Heath Horan took home the coveted Longest Putt award.
Congratulations to all golfers and sponsors. Special thanks is also extended to the YCC Club and top tier sponsors: Larson’s Cash Savers, Kirk Auto Group, Oxford Grillehouse, CWD Enterprises LLC, Addicus, Mechanics Bank + BankFirst, Black & Associates, Turnage Drug Store and Old Time Pest Control.
