Congratulations to Josh Harrison for winning The Mississippi Association of Supervisors County Employee Scholarship! Josh is the son of Phil and Ginger Harrison of Tillatoba.
Sunday, David and I ate lunch in Grenada with daughter, Donna Garripoli, and Miranda and Summer Procella. Miranda had made barbecue ribs, twice-baked potatoes and green beans. Donna made brownies for dessert. It was all so good. We came home full as a tick and took a long nap.
Martha Box said, “you know my friend that I love music but, I can’t carry a tune in my bucket. But I can groove to picking and singing at Carmella’s Tuesday nights with friends and supper.” And that she does!
Her son-in-law and grandson, Phil and Jake Harrison came over Saturday to cut and trim her yard.
“Wow, I am blessed!” she said.
Martha had a great time with good music, great friends and special co- workers from her GLMC history. Yes, I am blessed, Martha added.
“And today I was going to just worship at home and I suddenly thought, I better not miss Pastor Appreciation Day at Pope. While driving to church, I pulled off at Enid worshiping and singing Glory. Then when I walked in the church the Spirit was leading the singing! Wow, wow wow, – blessings of Healing, Forgiveness, Comfort and Joy, mind and hearts filled the building! HE LEADS ME!” Martha added.
And, laugh-out-loud, Pastor Appreciation is next Sunday! God meant for you to be there Sunday, Martha!
Kristie and Faye Hartley hosted a birthday party for Mary Brett Hartley Sunday afternoon for her ninth birthday. They had a big, blow-up water slide for the kids and they swam in the pool too. Mary Brett had lots of friends over to play and celebrate her birthday.
Friday night Waylon, Holly and Haven Rose Dukes, Junior Dukes and Mitch Carpenter motored to Tupelo for the All-Elite Wrestling show. From the pictures I saw, they had a good time. I know Haven Rose did. She loves to watch wrestling.
Doris Hoop texted me a little after five Monday morning and said she was waiting on them to take her back for her hip surgery. Please keep Doris and Barry in your prayers.
I saw several pictures of the strawberry moon on Facebook. It was so pretty and captured just right. It’s a term coined by Native American tribes and it marks the first and many times the only full moon in June. It’s named after the wild strawberries that ripen during this time.
Diane Dukes along with her son, John Dukes and Kathy, went to Tupelo Sunday. Diane bought some barstools. Monday morning she had to go to the doctor because she couldn’t breathe good. I hope you are feeling better soon.
Congratulations to Anna and Sam Pullen, who are getting ready to move in their new trailer house. They have it parked in the lot next to Waylon and Holly Dukes. Haven Rose and Joanna, sweet little cousins, will be next door to each other and can play all day on weekends.
Happy anniversary to Roseann and Jake Rose, who celebrated 11 wonderful years together Friday, June 2.
Happy birthday to Charlie Greer on the 5th; to Dusty McKibben on the 10th; Bo Williamson and Stacy Langham share a birthday on the 11th; Hadley Rye celebrates the 12 th; Beverly Craig McBride celebrates the 13th; and my sweet neighbor, Lila Myrick, along with Allison Dukes and Bro. Rickey Harris share a birthday on the 14th. I pray you all have a great day celebrating your birthday!
