Rotary Announces Carnival Raffle Prizes

Members of the Water Valley Rotary Club are selling raffle tickets as a fundraiser. The prizes are on display at Hometown Pizza this week.

The Rotary Club of Water Valley will hold their annual Watermelon Carnival Raffle to raise funds for community projects in the upcoming year. The club had such a great response to last year’s first place prize, the Blackstone Grill, that club members decided to offer it again and add some exciting new ones.

The Rotary Club is also pleased to introduce Satterfield Pottery of Oxford to carnival goers, as they have generously donated a prize for the raffle. Mari Foster, one of Water Valley’s exceptional artist, has offered a “Enid Lake sunset” print to raffle, and you can relax with your “cold” beverage of choice in a 40 oz. Stanley Tumbler while sitting in your camping chair alongside the collapsible cooler donated by Sam and Phyllis Goodwin of Guardian Termite & Pest Control, Inc.

Tommy White of C.W. White Inc. has again donated  $100 worth of  gasoline and Billy Childs of Seven Oaks Funeral Home provided a $100 Amazon Gift card as the sixth prize this year.

The price of the tickets remain the same.. $5 per ticket or five tickets for $20 – is a real bargain considering the awesome prizes offered this year.  Raffle ticket sales have started and tickets are available from any Rotarian as well as Mechanics Bank+Bank First, Renasant Bank, Turnage Drug Store, Sartain’s Home & Auto and GG’s Flowers and Gifts. Remember, the more tickets you purchase, the better chance you have of winning.

The Rotary Club will set up at the usual spot behind the Gazebo in City Park pm Friday, August 4, from 2 p.m. until dark and again on Saturday, August 5, from 8 a.m. until 2 p.m. The drawing for the prizes will be at approximately 2 p.m. Saturday at the Gazebo. You do not have to be present to win.

“We look forward to seeing you at the carnival and appreciate your participation in our raffle,” reported Rotary Club President Tyler Hill.

If you have any questions or are interested in becoming a member of the Rotary Club of Water Valley, please contact Hill, President, club secretary/treasurer Phyllis Goodwin or any club member.
