Danny Tillman, son of the late Louis Robert Tillman was found after missing for several days. A lifelong residence of the Greenville- Wayside area, he was reported missing on July 30. Family and friends prayed for his safe return home. Danny was a diabetic and had heart problems. Hours turned into days of searching for Danny on the hopes of finding him still alive, but the nightmares came true when Danny was found deceased on August 8 and reasons of death are still unclear. He was 56.
Danny’s family and friends meant the world to him, and he had a heart of gold. He would give anyone the shirt off of his back, even on his worst day. Danny had an unbelievable sense of humor and enjoyed the simple things in life. His smile could brighten anyone’s day. RIP my sweet nephew.
Saturday morning, my sister, Ann Hudson, and I went to our annual Oakland School Reunion which at the fish hatchery at Enid. It was a beautiful day and a great turnout with table after table of delicious food (most was homemade.) Needless to say, supper was light for me that night!
We got to visit with so many we only see once a year. Only two in my class of 1959 showed up – yours truly and Donnie Toole. Donnie said Ben Toole was there but left before it started.
Ann and I went by and visited a while with Wendell Carvan after it was over. It was so good to visit with him. He is always such a great host and makes you feel welcomed. Thanks, Wendell.
Martha Box had an eye appointment Monday morning for her check up after her cataract operation last Monday morning. I hope you got a good report!
Too dad-gum hot to work, Martha said.
She did have a great time visiting with friends at Tillatoba Baptist Church on Sunday. Bro Harris preached such a spirit filled message. God’s Word: Read it, Study it, Follow it for HEAVEN IS OUR GOAL!
Congratulations to all the young men getting ready to start their first college classes. Josh Harrison got moved in with the help of his parents, Phil and Ginger Harrison; and Grayson Albritton moved to MSU Saturday, August 12, with the help of his mother, JoJo McClanahan and his sister, Emily Little. Grayson will be studying Mechanical Engineering and his classes begin August 16.
My sweet friend, Darlene Moorman says, “nothing going on over here, but thank the LORD all is well.”
My daughter, Donna and sweet great-grandson, Bradley Holliday, visited Sunday afternoon. He’s up big enough now that O’ma has to ask for my hugs. When he was little, he would head straight for me but not anymore. He collects little knives and I had found a little one while cleaning last week. He has them all in a box and takes good care of them. He’s not allowed to carry one around yet.
It was an emotional weekend for sure for Phil and Ginger Harrison, even though they are also both very excited for the boys and know they will do great. Jake did get to come home and they had Sunday lunch with Diane Hill. Afterwards Jake headed back to Cleveland, and Phil and Ginger had a nice visit with their mother, Martha Box. Ginger woke her up from her Sunday afternoon nap. Oops. I guess Super Woman gets tired too!
Jake Rose had eye surgery in Memphis recently. I hope they helped you, Jake.
I went back for my injections in both eyes last week and was blinded for almost a day. It scared me so bad. It started clearing up but things are a little fuzzy, like a glaze over my eyes.
Deborah McCool cooked a big pot roast for her daddy’s birthday dinner. Michael Merrill, Ray Bell’s grandson and family were bringing food to go with it. They even had a big banana pudding. Tommy, Deborah’s husband, stayed home because of sickness and Jason Beavers was with him. Kimberly Beavers and girls came as well as Allison Dukes. Angela and son, PJ Dukes have both been suffering with head colds so they stayed home. Angela is doing better, doing therapy and working remotely from home for work since her heart attack.
Deborah said Tommy called saying he needed to go back to the emergency room. She told everyone to enjoy the meal and left to go take Tommy back to the emergency room. Monday afternoon after she got off work, they went back to her daddy’s again with a birthday cake and ice cream to celebrate his 89th birthday.
