Julia Kerr visited her daughter and family, Christina and Kenny Alleman in Scott, La. recently. While there she got to watch her granddaughter, Brianna, play softball; and her grandson, Kristian, play football. Julia said she had a great weekend.
Lynn Marceleno had to take her husband, Miguel Marceleno, for his checkup in Tupelo. This week, they have go to a doctor in Batesville. Staples will come out and he will start physical therapy in Grenada. It will be another month before he has to go back to Tupelo. Lynn is doing a great job taking care of his knee at home. She said it’s looking great but still swollen and will be a while before it heals. He has a appointment with the orthopedic doctor in Hernando this week, also.
Lynn said it can take six to eight months to heal up. God was with Miguel that day!
Lynn and her mother, Mildred Kendall, are having a rummage sales October 1, one at her house and her Mom’s at her house. It’s to raise money for a benefit for us, said Lynn. People have donated some things and more supposed to donate.
Sheryn Goode and Patty Rowland went to Oxford Friday for two different doctors appointments. Then they went by Cracker Barrel in Batesville. Sheryn said she was so full when they left, she could hardly walk. No room for a dessert but she sure wanted that peach cobbler with ice cream.
Darlene Moorman had a surprise visit from her great grandson, Elisa Beck, from Millington, Tenn. He is staying until Monday. Elisa will be five years old on Dec. 30.
Phil and Ginger Harrison enjoyed having both boys home last weekend. Josh got to sing in church Sunday. He sang “Why Me Lord” and did a great job. They enjoyed having moma, Martha Box, visit with at Pine Grove Church Sunday.
Sadie Harper is doing good but Milton’s skin cancer area isn’t healing very well. Sadie was going to call his doctor as soon as they opened Monday morning.
Jacob and Kellie Young are anxiously waiting on their new home to be finished. They are hoping it will be done by Christmas! That would be an awesome Christmas for all of you!
Deborah McCool says nothing is different with her lately. She is staying nights with her dad, Ray Bell, at the Charleston hospital. Her brother, Ronnie Bell, is staying days. Ray is doing better but still a long way to go.
Martha Box had a great supper with great music and visiting with good friends Tuesday night at Carmella’s in Grenada. She also saw some more friends and enjoyed music Saturday evening. Martha loves her music
Martha texted me and said she was sitting on the porch with Joyce, her sister, laughing and gossiping. Said they sure had a good fish supper at Catfish Hut Friday.
Monday through Friday afternoon, you can find Martha having coffee with her son, Ben, and friends. She can’t be still! I need some of her energy!
Martha also enjoyed a great church visit at Pine Grove Baptist Church. She enjoyed great music from Josh and a touching message by Pastor Sherman Ballard, who brought the feeling of love and protection throughout the house! She said it was so good to sit with Diane Hill, Jake, Josh, Ginger and Phil Harrison. After leaving church, Martha she ran into
Dot Campbell, an old friend she worked at Grenada Lake Medical Center with for 18 years. But the sweetest moment she had though was with Marnie and Addie, her grands.
Happy birthday to Karol Knowles on the 28th; to Sandy Beavers and George Biddle who share a birthday the 29th; and Rina Chaney on the 30th. Starting with our October birthdays are Jessie Williams and Lynn Marceleno celebrate the 1st; J.L. Crawford the 2nd; and Kim Beavers on the 4th. I hope you all have a great day celebrating your birthday.
