I just want to remind you all again that Tillatoba Baptist Church will have games, hayride, cakewalk, chili cook off and much more on October 14.  Join in for an evening of faith, fun and fellowship from 4 to 6 p.m. The hayride at six will end the festivities. This is for all ages!

Kellie Young has been busy making muscadine jelly. Of course she had a lot of help from the two little ones, Elena and Jude, helping squish the muscadines. I know they loved that!

Speaking of muscadine jelly, when David was down at Trudy’s paying our water bill, she gave him a jar of her jelly. I can’t wait to make a pan of buttermilk biscuits.

Ginger and Phil Harrison enjoyed having both boys home for the weekend again. Martha Box, Phil Harrison’s favorite mother-in-law and Josh had a enjoyable meal at Catfish Hut  Friday. If I could work off those calories I would eat there daily, Martha added.

Mama’s (Jessie Williams) 84th birthday gathering was hosted by her daughter, Julia Kerr. Those attending were Cayden and Alyssa Kerr; Sandra McCaulla, Jacob McCaulla, William McCaulla and Naomi Jones; Bubba and Sheila Williams; Tara and Matt Upchurch; Miley Jones and her friend, Makayla, whose birthday was also Sunday; Connie Brassel; Paul and Teresa Ross; and Frank and Freda Weir. Julia said they had a good visit and some good food.

Martha Box said, no exciting news except we are still loved and Forgiven by Our LORD JESUS.

She has been busy with a few “must-do things” including funerals. One was for her long time friend and the other was for a friend’s stepfather.

“The Love and Joy of God and Heaven shared so like the going away party well deserved,” she said about the funerals.

Martha also reported a great Saturday drive looking at the autumn changes. She stopped for lunch at Cracker Barrel in Batesville and was seated right next to dear friends, Bro. Tommy and Sister Sherry Darby. They had a great visit. On the way back, she drove the back roads suggested by Bro. Tommy and enjoyed beautiful sites!

Martha reported a great church visit at Willow Springs Assembly of God Sunday morning. Very few people were there but the message, “Pray and Praise Without Ceasing” and the music filled the house with Holy Spirit and Love! Martha picked up fish at Catfish Hut and took it to her sister Joyce’s home. She said they ate so well, she went home and napped for two hrs.

Martha said Sister, Joyce Stevens was down with bronchitis all week and granddaughter, Rissa was also sick.

Love and sympathy is extended to the friends and family of Dr. Clarence James Cooper, Jr. He passed away Saturday, October 7, at his residence in Brandon.

I try to be so careful and not fall but I met the floor pretty hard yesterday. I turned around and didn’t mean to, and my feet got all twisted around. I hurt all night long and I couldn’t sleep. Donna was already on her way up from Grenada so she washed my dishes and swept the floors. Thank goodness we have a walker and I’m using that for now.

I talked to Peggy Bailey Monday morning and she said she has an appointment to go to the doctor Friday and Eugene has one for next Monday. Their son, Jeff, had been by Sunday and brought their medicine to them. Jeff left out at 2:30 a.m. Monday morning on his way to Texas for a meeting.

Festus, Ruth Jane and Amanda visited with Peggy and Eugene Sunday afternoon.

Happy birthday to Delia Arbuckle on the 13th; to my sister, Ann Hudson on the 14th, which she gladly shares with Samy McCracken, John Adam Robinson and Randy Hoop; Faye Hartley, Karen Chambers, Teresa Ross and Bridget Bailey celebrates on the 16th; and Diane Nail Hill celebrates the next day. I hope you all have a wonderful day celebrating your birthday!

That’s a wrap for today. I’m gonna hobble on in to the kitchen and with David’s help make us a pot of vegetable soup and cornbread and some biscuits to go with that jelly Trudy Simmons sent. Enjoy your week and this cooler weather.

Thought for the day: The drippings off the honeycomb are sweet to your taste. Know that wisdom is such to your soul.
