Mt. Moriah Missionary Baptist District, Auxiliaries Install New Officers
Rev. Calvin Hawkins was elected to serve as the eighth Moderator for the Mt. Moriah Missionary Baptist District Association and its auxiliaries. The installation program was held on Sunday, October 15 at the district headquarters located in Coffeeville. In addition to Rev. Hawkins other cabinet members installed were Rev. Kelvin Lee, pastor of Hopewell M. B. Church as Moderator at Large; Rev. Dr. Thomas Tillman, pastor of Jackson Chapel M. B. Church in Bruce as 1st Vice-Moderator; Rev. Shed King, pastor of Bridges Chapel M. B. Church in Pittsboro as 2nd Vice-Moderator; Sister Earline Townes, as Congress President; and Sister Anita Covington as Congress Dean. Many church leaders across the 23 churches were installed to hold directors and coordinator positions.
Mt. Moriah District will have fifth Sunday Services on Sunday, October 29, beginning at 10 a.m. Rev. Anthony Edwards, pastor of Bryant Chapel M. B. Church of Pittsboro will be the guest evangelist and church on this day. The district welcomes Rev. Hawkins and his cabinet in serving the district’s churches and the community.
