The Lord blessed us with a much needed rain shower that really cooled things off Sunday afternoon. It was so cool that David added a quilt to our bed.
I’ve been saying that I am going to my neighbors’ yard and see about picking a few persimmons to cut open and see what our weather is going to be like this winter. Our tree died. I love cutting them open and looking for a spoon or knife.
Christian love and sympathy to the family and friends of Inge Maria Bierenstiel Cook, 87, of Grenada who passed away Sunday, October 15, at her son’s residence at Oakland. Inge was such a sweet and loving lady. I didn’t see her often, but when I did, it was like old times all over again.

Phil, Ginger and Josh Harrison went to the state fair Saturday. They got to see the 4-H livestock, enjoying kids and their animals. That evening they attended a 4-H awards Gala where Josh was recognized for winning the Bronze Congregational medal. They all had a really good time. Jake stayed home nursing an ear ache. Thankfully he was much better when they arrived home on Sunday. Ginger said she managed to get some things washed and get them both packed up and sent back to school. I need a nap now, she said.

Our great grandson, Bradley Holliday along with his Slugger teammates played in their last fall baseball tournament last weekend. They finished the day with a 2-1 record and came to earn first place in the consolation bracket. In game two, Bradley hit a double and allowed three RBIs to secure the win against the Manatees. His coach named him MVP of that game. Way to go, Bradley!
Melissa Sturdivant said she is proud of her boy, James Lee. A 91 in reading kept him from headmaster list but that doesn’t matter, he still had all As. He worked very hard missing a week sick and having to get caught up at the very end. He is still not feeling himself and having to push through everyday. Praying you feel better soon, James Lee.
Martha Box said her Twist and Shout lately has changed to slow dancing.
“But even with all that’s going on in this world, God is still in charge. Jesus is still our Saviour and Healer. Because HE is, I can face tomorrow,” Martha says.
Martha had a great visit at Wayne and Donna Box’s house Saturday evening. A wonderful prayer meeting on the patio singing praises. Prayer brought back such sweet memories! Martha had a great visit at Tillatoba Baptist Church Sunday morning. She said Bro. Harris spoke so well about our SAVIOUR and only through HIM can we make it to heaven.
Martha and her sister, Joyce Stevens, ate again at Catfish Hut after church. And you know they love that fish!
