Remember to keep your eyes open and do some elf spotting during the day, too. The Chamber Elf will be out and about taking pics with shoppers. Post those on Facebook with the hashtag #ChamberElf.
Here are a few suggestions to help with holiday shopping.
Plan Ahead: Make a list of people you need to buy gifts for and what you’d like to get them. This will help you stay focused and organized.
Check Local Boutiques: Visit local boutiques, gift shops, and specialty stores that offer a variety of items. They often curate a selection of products from local artisans.
Support Local Restaurants: Consider giving the gift of a meal or a gift card to a local restaurant. This not only supports local businesses but also provides a memorable experience.
Talk to friends, family, and co-workers about their favorite local shops and businesses. They might have great suggestions for unique gifts.
The Christmas parade will be here as fast as reindeer flying over rooftops. If you participated last year and have not already received an email with an application and other details, please contact the Chamber office. Just like Santa’s reindeer, the parade will dash, dance and prance up Main Street on Friday night, Dec. 1. This year’s theme is Magical Winter Nights and a truly spectacular line-up of bands, vehicles, and floats will start from the Crawford Sports Complex beginning at 6 p.m.
Renasant Bank is sponsoring the prizes for the winning entries for this year’s parade. The Grand Prize for Best Float will receive $150. Top floats in the following categories will win $50 each: Business, School, Church/Religious, Best Decorated Vehicle, Best Vintage Vehicle and Best Performance.
Remember that supporting Water Valley businesses during the holiday season helps our community thrive and making your Christmas shopping experience more enjoyable and meaningful.
