OAKLAND – A 29 year-old Oxford man sustained fatal injuries in vehicle crash early Sunday morning on Interstate 55 in Yalobusha County. Yalobusha County Coroner Ronnie Stark reported Trevoris Montrell Meeks, originally from Oakland, was pronounced dead at the scene from blunt force trauma.
The Mississippi Highway Patrol reported that Meeks was in a 2018 Chrysler 300 driving south on Interstate 55 near Oakland when his vehicle left the roadway and rolled over several times. Troopers responded to the crash at approximately 3:22 a.m.
Stark said that Meeks was ejected from the vehicle.
The crash remains under investigation by the Mississippi Highway Patrol.
