A 15 Year Tradition, Annual Holiday Miniatures Show Opens This Weekend At Bozarts
The Annual Holiday Miniatures Show at Bozarts Gallery opens this weekend with an artist reception on Saturday, December 2 from 6 – 9 p.m. Now it its 15th year, this annual holiday art tradition in Water Valley offers viewers a large assortment of small-sized work in all media including painting, printing, photography, sculptures and collage work.
For this anniversary exhibition, 28 artists will be showing their work. Featured artists are Erin Austin Abbott, Pati d’Amico, Jack Barbera, Elsie Booker, Kim Caddell, Haley Chiles, Kim Cooley, Somayeh Faal, Mari Foster, Lucy Gaines, Hanne Gaycken, Katrina Geenen, Thomas Grosskopf, James Kane, Johnny McPhail, Jan Murray, Gail Morton, Allison Movitz, Nancy Moore, Dane Noonan, Jennifer Pace, Stacey Rathert, Mary Schove, Kaleena Stasiak, Bill Warren, Amy Webb and Allison Woolsey. They will be joined by juried student artists and first-time international guest artist Eva Horvath from Germany. This year again, the mini works will be contrasted by a large metal sculpture made by Seth Thibodeaux.
The concept of the miniatures show is to invite artists to work on a small scale, to bring together different artists for conversation and exchange, and to offer small original art work perfect for holiday gift giving.
As always, the reception is free and open to the public. The gallery hours are Friday noon to 5 p.m. and Saturdays 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The show runs through Dec. 16.
