Grant Coffey (left) was ordained at Mt. Liberty Baptist Church Sunday. Billy Childs presented a certificate following the service.
I pray the week has found everyone in blessed favor. The holidays are here and I know we’re all busy, but it’s important to remember what we’re celebrating.
My daughter and I took a trip to Tupelo Friday. It was a blast. We did a little shopping and had a fun little spa day. The relaxation was great.
Sunday was a huge day for us at Mt. Liberty Baptist Church. Bro. Grant Coffey was ordained. We are all so proud of him. I know with him leading, the church is on to bigger things. He is a spirit-filled, humble leader. I have grown personally over the year that he has served as interim pastor. I believe God knows the people you will need in this life and designs it so you find them.
The Sunday morning service was about things we desire this day and time. A Google search showed that most people desire things such as freedom, happiness, joy, money… On that list, God was not mentioned. Our sermon was from Psalms 84. The psalmist had a desire to be in the presence of God. He yearned for it so much, he was jealous of the birds that lived there. God wants to be with us. So much so, he sacrificed His son. We should desire that relationship with God. We are told to examine ourselves. What do we truly desire? If the answer isn’t to be closer to God, then we have changes to make.
I pray you all have a wonderful week. I am so excited to be sharing with you again all that we are doing in the Mt Liberty community. May God bless you; and may the Holy Spirit guide you!
