This cold rainy weather that we are having has put me in a mood to do my Christmas decorating. The only problem is, most of it is in the shed. I had some decorations already in the house but I’m limited to what I can do with this tear in my rotator cuff in my right arm.
Christian love and sympathy to the Eugene Bailey family of Tillatoba. Eugene passed away Friday at the Tallahatchie General extended care facility in Charleston. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Monday, December 4, at McKibben and Guinn Funeral Service in Grenada with Rev. Rickey Harris officiating. Interment followed in the Wayside Cemetery at Scobey.
Faye Hartley went to Holly Springs Saturday and watched her grandson, Rowland Hartley, play basketball. He plays on the peewee team at North Delta. Faye said when Roland’s dad, Nathan, played ball that she didn’t miss a game! That’s a dedicated momma right there and I don’t think she has missed too many if any of Rowland’s games.
Shelia Jackson said to please pray for Davin Rowland and his parents. Davin was in a bad wreck in Clarksdale. Also pray for the Steve Sanders family.
Someone’s bad dogs made my yard look like a garbage truck exploded AGAIN, reported Martha Box.
“I had to yip, yelp, and shout out PRAISES, but I got the clean up done!” Martha said. “Yes, even with both rotator cuffs and a foot screaming I bent over picking up trash.”
I’m thinking Martha is trying to hint for folks to take care of their dogs and to keep them locked up and out of her yard.
Martha also reported a wonderful church service with friends and family at Pine Grove Baptist Church Sunday.
“Bro Scarborough so well voiced the need for all to share the Word, JESUS with all. So enjoyed the children’s Sunday message from Diane Hill. The sweet look on those kids faces as they understood so touched my soul,” Martha added.
Darlene Moorman had all of her grands and great grands all day Sunday for her Christmas dinner and that dressing was so good that they had better go back for seconds. The visitors included the Richard Beck family from Amory, Nicole Beck and family from Millington, Tenn. This was their first Christmas together Darlene cooked for two whole days to prepare all the food.
Glad to have Josh home for the Holiday break, said his mother Ginger Harrison. His brother, Jake, will be home next week! Ginger also enjoyed having Moma (Martha Box) at church with her at Pine Grove Sunday.
Ray Bell came home Friday from the hospital. Pray that he will get his strength up so he will feel like eating. Lately he hasn’t had an appetite.
Sunday our guests for lunch were Susan Bell of Caledonia, along with Shelia Bailey, Donna Garripoli, Miranda Procella, Summer Procella and Bradley Holliday, all of Grenada. The sisters, Susan and Sheila went to Peters Open House in Mound Bayou and had a great time. Susan came back to Tillatoba and spent the night and took me to my doctors appointment Monday. The rest of the bunch decorated my tree before going back home. Thank you all so much!
Happy belated birthday to Christy Tallent, who celebrated November 30. Happy birthday to Mahaley Hames on the 10th; Brandy Rounsaville celebrates the 11th; Lillian Standridge and Missy Burney celebrate on the 12th; Loretta Jackson, Margareta Dotson and Sandy Sturdivant celebrate the 13th; and Lee Jackson and Myra Dempsey share a birthday on the 14th. May you all have a blessed birthday.
Thought for the day: My therapist told me the way to achieve true inner peace is to finish what I start. So far I’ve finished two bags of M&Ms and a chocolate cake.
