WATER VALLEY – Yalobusha County’s elected officials will be sworn in during a ceremony scheduled Thursday, December 28 at the Yalobusha County courthouse in Water Valley. Circuit Judge Jimmy McClure will preside at the ceremony that starts at 6 p.m.
Taking the oath of office will be Chancery Clerk Donald Gray, Circuit Clerk Daryl Burney, Tax Assessor/Collector Michael Walton, Coroner Ronnie Stark, County Attorney Gail Barton, Justice Court Judge District 1 Janet Caulder, Justice Court Judge District 2 Trent Howell, Constable District 1 Ralph Horton, Constable District 2 Randy Simmons, District 1 Supervisor Cayce Washington, District 2 Supervisor Ken Rogers, District 3 Supervisor Kenny Harmon, District 4 Supervisor Eddie Harris and District 5 Supervisor Gaylon Gray.
Sheriff Jerimaine Gooch had a scheduling conflict on Dec. 28 and was sworn in by Circuit Judge Smith Murphey Monday morning prior to court.
The four-year term begins on Tuesday, January 2.
A retirement reception is scheduled prior to the ceremony for Chancery Clerk Amy McMinn and Tax Assessor/Collector Linda Shuffield. The reception will be held from 5 to 6 p.m.
