Wreck Claims Life Of High School Senior

WATER VALLEY – A Water Valley High School senior was killed in a vehicle wreck Sunday morning. Yalobusha County Coroner Ronnie Stark reported Raven Scroggins was pronounced dead at the scene after her pickup struck a tree on Hwy. 32 in the Pine Valley community.

The truck caught fire after the impact and Stark reported a DNA test will be performed, routine protocol in a fire fatality.
The Water Valley School District reported grief counselors will be available at Water Valley High School and Davidson Elementary School when classes resume.
