I ran into Brenda and Charles Vance while I was having test run at the cardiologist office in Oxford last Wednesday. I worked with Brenda years ago and loved her from the start. I’ve always thought she was one of the sweetest and prettiest ladies in Montgomery County. She’s still a beautiful lady. Brenda had a birthday February 12th. Happy belated birthday, Brenda!

Center Stage of Calhoun County presented Frozen Jr. Feb. 8 to 10 at Calhoun City High School. Tillatoba resident Emily Rutherford Little, a native of Calhoun City, performed in five different musicals on the same stage. Emily wanted her daughter, Scottie, to see and appreciate musicals, just as she did when she was younger.

Scottie, had a blast singing and dancing to all of her favorite songs and enjoyed seeing the characters from the movie perform in real life. Emily said, “watching her in awe and wonder during the show is something I’ll never forget. I enjoy theater and hope that Scottie will, too, some day.”

Ginger Harrison reported having a good weekend. She was so happy to have both of her sons, Jake and Josh, home.
Waylon and Holly Dukes and daughter, Haven Rose, attended the wedding of Justin and Destiny Brunson in Oxford Saturday.

Martha Box says, “What happened to Tuesday? I just went to church on Sunday!!!! And what a message. Brother Scarborough had me on edge of my seat. Such a strong message to share, “WORD and JESUS!”

Martha encourages everyone close to Pine Grove Baptist Church to visit and feel the LOVE and WORD. She also had strong words on another topic.

“May I encourage you all to help teach, lead against trashing and destroying our roadsides. We need to RESPECT THIS LAND! Take your garbage to your can please. If your actions make you happy the price you pay will not,” says Martha.

The McCools got up early and went to eat breakfast in Batesville Sunday morning. Next they motored on up to Senatobia to visit with their son, Christopher, and Samantha.

On Saturday they went to Memphis with daughter, Angela, and grandson, PJ. It was PJ’S 25th birthday and they went to Ikea.

“It is huge. We spent several hours there and still didn’t look at everything,” she added.

Ikea is a furniture store and everything that goes with it. A cafeteria is also inside the store and they sell some groceries too. They had a good time .

Julia Kerr visited this past weekend with her mother, Jessie Williams. Phillip Williams is visiting Jessie also but he’s visiting his sister, Sandra McCulla, in Grenada for a while. Jessie is doing okay, said Julia. They went to Oxford and saw the doctor, ate a nice meal and did some shopping.

I know Jessie enjoyed that.

Happy birthday to Milton Harper who celebrated the 15th; to Destiny Dukes on the 22nd; Patty Lancaster celebrates the 23rd; Jonathan Rice on the 24th; Deborah Tillman the 25th; Sarah Williams the 26th; Katherine Brewer and Melissa Sturdivant share a birthday the 27th; and to close out our March birthdays is Ben Fisk on the 29th.

I pray you all have a wonderful day celebrating your special day.

Thought for the day…Always kiss your husband good night and tell him you love him. The next morning ask him what you can do to make his day better.
