I am now the owner of a new pacemaker. I get a job, they will have to pay me a little more salary for the extra part! The surgery went well and I appreciate all of your prayers, texts and well-wishes. That’s why I was so calm during my stay at the hospital. I was ready to get it on and over with. And too, I was his last surgery for the day and I was starving!!
Ginger and Phil Harrison said they had a great weekend! Enjoyed listening to Josh playing with “In Debt.” They reported it was very nice having both boys home. They also enjoyed having mama (Martha Box) in church with them on Sunday.
News is still just me trying to get on with this show, says Martha Box.
“You know It Ain’t Easy Being Me!” she added.
Martha also said this crazy weather has her layering up.
“My itsy bitsy bikini first, then denim and corduroy topped with a parka with sunglasses in pocket. You know I have to be ready for this crazy Mississippi weather!” she said
Martha’s week included running about for errands and chores and landing at the Corner Store for lunch a few times. She said her britches getting a bit tight cause they sure cook so good.
Martha had a wonderful visit with Ginger, Phil, Jake and Josh Saturday night and enjoyed “In Debt” so much. She also had a wonderful church visit with Pine Grove Baptist Church friends and family where they were singing.
“To sit with Jake and Josh singing such spirit-filled songs touched my soul! A great preaching of the salvation and discipleship was done so well by Rev. Sherman Barnett.
Bobby Joe is putting up with Martha doing his foot dressings every evening. Kenny Dunning is a great assistant, making it easy on patient and nurse!
Martha added that the coffee breaks she takes at the Truck Stop every afternoon with Gene Standridge, Kenny Dunning, Harvey Darby, Bennie Box and sometimes Coach Roberson keeps her going.
“Jesus loves you and so do I, is the real news. Always has, always will,” Martha said.
Deborah McCool says she hopes your writer am feeling better. Still praying for me.
Deborah and Tommy went to Leland Saturday afternoon and visited with Tommy’s two sisters. Of course they picked Alice up, and she had a good time too. Alice is still having pain from her fractured pelvis but is doing physical therapy at home. They took their mom’s wheelchair to push Alice around so she could keep off her feet and not hurt as much.
Our visitors Sunday were daughter Donna Garripoli bearing two chocolate pies and granddaughter, Miranda Procella, with a huge pot of potato soup and bread to go with it! Other visitors were Frankie Holliday and son, Bradley, and Summer Procella!
Love and sympathy to the Jerry Dean Goff family. Jerry passed away at the VA Medical Center in Memphis. He was 77 and the husband of Emily Carvan Goff of Oakland.
I see a lot of gardeners getting a head start on their gardens. I always wanted to do that, but for some reason I never did. I may try to plant some tomatoes after I start feeling better but probably get someone to do it for us. David is having problems with his back and can’t bend over long at a time.
