I hope everyone had a great week. It’s been another good one here. This Saturday, May 18, is our annual cemetery day at Mt. Liberty. The ladies are going to host folks from all over who come and visit and work in the cemetery. I’ll go this year as well. Usually, I’ve had to work or have something else going on. I am excited to be able to attend not only to help the ladies, but also because my dad is buried in the cemetery. It’s a pretty big event for us.
This past weekend was kind of big for Mississippi as many got outside Friday night to see the Northern Lights. There were so many beautiful pictures people posted on Facebook and I thought it was fascinating. God truly is truly the ultimate artist. Then we had Mother’s Day on Sunday. I got in a little time in with my mom, and then joined Emily at First Christian Church for a Mother’s Day banquet. We had a lot of fun.
Bro Grant Coffey brought us a message Sunday from Proverbs 31 about how precious women really are. Women have many roles. We are the glue that holds the family together and gets things done. A woman will work tirelessly to ensure her husband and children are taken care of. If ever a woman needs to know her worth, open the Bible and read Proverbs 31:10-28.
Bro Grant announced that we’re going to get the original Mt Liberty Church bell repaired and installed. I find this so fascinating. This bell used to signal that the men of the church were needed. If someone died and the family needed a grave dug, they would ring the bell. They would also signal the start of church by ringing the bell. I’m very excited for this to be completed. I’m interested in researching more of our church history. I’ll be talking about that in future columns as I learn more about the history of our church.
We had a big crowd Sunday and I’m truly thankful to God for the growth. It’s nice to have visitors who become family. If you’re looking for a church, we invite you to join us at Mt. Liberty Church Our services start at 11.
