WATER VALLEY – Not all garden elves wear cute green hats and pointy shoes. Some dedicated helper elves of the Water Valley Town and Country Garden Club recently donated supplies, donned work clothes and baseball caps to give a much-needed facelift to the twenty-three Main Street planters.
These planters, maintained by the garden club, have been a charming downtown feature for a number of years. However, time and weather had taken their toll, leaving them in need of some tender care. The elves rolled up their sleeves and got to work.
The project involves some heavy-lifting, a thorough clean-up and a fresh coat of paint to make them look like new again.
The club owes a debt of gratitude to the hardworking elves who are making this possible. Special thanks go to Jodie Burks, Tommy White, Terry Allen Jr., Larry Sprouse, and Michael Scroggins and his crew. Their dedication and commitment to Water Valley is evident in every brushstroke.
