Can you believe August is almost gone and Thanksgiving is just around the corner?
Christian love and sympathy to the William “Bill” David Robinson family. Bill passed away Thursday, August 15, 2024 at the Saint Francis Hospital in Memphis, Tenn. A celebration of Bill’s life was held on Sunday, August 18, at 5 p.m. in the Martin Willingham Memorial Chapel of Wells Funeral Home in Batesville.
Martha Box said, “Friend it is Hot. So hot the hens are laying hard boiled eggs and the rooster ain’t crowing in the mornings!”
Martha got out in the heat Friday to pick up groceries and tend to other such needs. Martha also picked up meds for her sister, Joyce, and reported she was better Sunday. They enjoyed lunch at the Catfish Hut after church. They reported seeing Al Irwin and that sweet handsome son of his at the restaurant.
Martha said she also enjoyed a beautiful church visit at Willow Springs Assembly Of God.
“You know I love to visit all my family and friends there,” she said.
The singing by the Box Girls had the tears flowing and praises going up.
“They sang “Fervent Prayer” with their mom and grandma, wow!,” Martha said. “And what a message Bro. Tommy Darby preached. Jesus is coming soon! The Spirit was so felt by us all. Touched my heart to see that sweet little baby at the alter, head down like mommy!”
Deborah McCool said Tommy worked all weekend again. When he got home, he mowed before taking a few minutes to jump in the pool afterwards and enjoy it. Deborah just took it slow all weekend but had a good time at church Sunday. One more week until she goes to Jackson for surgery, I know she will be glad when it is done and over with
We all will be praying for you, sweet girl.
My up-the-road neighbor, Lila Myrick, said she has been staying in out of this heat. Says she tried sitting on her porch one day but the heat ran her back in the house!
Sheila Jackson and granddaughter, Mali Jarrell, visited Jimmy and Patti Rowland one day last week.
My precious little great granddaughter, Haven Rose Dukes, visited us a while Sunday morning along with her daddy, Waylon. Haven started 4K last week and can spell her name already. She loves looking at pictures on my phone so that’s what we did. Her aunt Donna came while she was here and she got to visit with her.
Happy birthday to Scotty Chambers on the 22nd; Benny Walker, Lilly Whitaker and Geneva Kelly celebrate on the 23rd; Annette Corley, Pat Brooks and Heath Crawford celebrate the 24th; Nancy Chambers and Haven Rose Dukes on the 26th; and Nick Traywick and Brent Bowman on the 27th. I hope all of you have a great day celebrating your birthday!!
Thought for the day….. The early bird might get the worm, but the second mouse gets the cheese.”
