Wasn’t that rain we had last week wonderful? And they are saying we are getting more this week.
We only had three little trick-or-treaters Thursday night. I guess they weren’t wanting to brave all the rain. David has been eating candy all week. We did get to see our ‘lil princess, Haven Rose and ‘lil pumpkin, Waylon Jr. Dukes. Thanks, Waylon and Holly, for bringing them down.
Love and sympathy is extended to the Ray Schmitz Jr. family of Coffeeville. He passed away Saturday and leaves a sister, Trudy Simmons, of Tillatoba. A full obituary is on page 7.
Deborah McCool, my up-the-road neighbor, was going to have a yard sale Saturday but her husband, Tommy, couldn’t get off so they are planning one this coming Saturday, the 9th. She said they have almost finished cleaning out her mom and dad’s house, so some things from there will also be in the sale.
Deborah said that hopefully next Sunday afternoon they can go to Senatobia to visit their son, Christopher.
Lila Myrick shared that a large crowd of family and friends enjoyed a fish fry and cook out at Bobby Joe McClanahan’s residence on Saturday.
Junior Dukes, along with Kat Benson and Kat’s sister, Sydney Blair Benson, flew to Disney World in Orlando, Fla. last week for a week’s tour.
It was Junior’s first time to fly and he loved it. They went to the Harry Potter theme park, Universal Studios and Island of Adventure, Disney Springs and also reported Disney Hollywood Studios was an awesome place. I think the Star Wars Studio was the main focus for Junior and Kat. They made it back home safe and sound with big smiles on their faces.
On Monday my son, Derek Deck of Cleveland, visited for a short while. Brad, Frankie and Bradley Holliday and daughter, Donna, came Sunday. Donna swept my floors while Frankie vacuumed and gave me a much-needed pedicure. Thank y’all so much!
Oh, is fall beautiful, reports Martha Box. She witnessed thousands of beautiful orange and brown leaves falling at one time. Monday morning she fell back asleep dreaming of riding about this beautiful fall town of Tillatoba!
Martha had a great time talking with Addie, her great-granddaughter, on Saturday. It put a smile in her heart.
Martha also enjoyed Saturday afternoon with two of her great nephews. They cleaned up her garden and she said they are great workers and great company.
She reported a wonderful church visit at Tillatoba Baptist Sunday. She loved seeing all so happy and the great message from Bro. Harris.
“The love that JESUS has for us so felt . The understanding of REVIVAL brought us right to the cross!” Martha said.
Rydar Jaco and Wyatt Jaco sure enjoyed Sunday school and church. Then they went to Catfish Hut and ate such good food they cleaned the plate! They love their GREAT AUNT. Everyone loves you, Martha!!!
Happy anniversary to Brent and Tori Bowman on the 12th. I think it’s their eighth and the gift for you to look for, Brent, is something in bronze.
Happy birthday to my cuz, Earl Fox, on the 8th. Clay McFerrin and Sam Pullen celebrate on the 9th; Jackson Jarrell on the 10th; Diane Dukes, Harvey Sturdivant and Rosemary Irby share a birthday on the 11th; and to Marsha Goodwin on the 12th. May you all have a great day celebrating!
Thought for the day….People say nothing is impossible, but I do nothing everyday.
