Happy Thanksgiving to all of you readers out there! May your day be a day of love, laughter and good food.
Someone needs to pinch me and wake me up! This past year must be driving a Mustang because it has flown by me. We will be celebrating Thanksgiving in just a few days. Can y’all believe this?
Congratulations to my nephew, Terry Tillman of Jacksonville, Florida (formerly of Grenada). After 40 years of dedicated service, Terry retired from DoN AECM IPT LEAD PMA 272 at Fleet Readiness Center Southeast Jacksonville, Florida. Now maybe he can visit more often!
Joey and Katelyn McClanahan and friend, Shelby Dewitt of Brandon, are planning a visit with Bobby Joe McClanahan and family this weekend. Kirsti Dave visited recently and cooked breakfast for her dad.
“Still trying to be the MARTHA I used to be,” reports Martha Box. “You know, bopping and twisting as I worked. I had to have a talk with me this very morning,” she added.
Martha reported a great supper at her sister’s (Joyce) house Thursday eve.
“That girl can sure cook cornbread!” she added.
Martha also reported a good visit with her two daughters, Candy and Ginger, at lunch at the Corner Store Wednesday.
“Wishing time would slow down. Poor ole turkey has not even quit gobbling yet and Christmas is everywhere! And I get to have all together Thanksgiving. And this is the first time I turned it all over to them! I’m hungry thinking of their good cooking and clean up!,” Martha added.
Martha has foot surgery scheduled Jan 7. Says she will be up dancing before you know it and I bet she will.
Faye Hartley and Rowland, her grandson, went hunting and he killed a deer. You brought him good luck, Faye!
Happy birthday to Clyde Callahan on the 20th; Cindy Harrell Stephens celebrates on the 21st; and Tami Dantzler Lott, Nathan Hartley, Kathy Hartley and Mason Tillman all celebrate on the 28th. May you all have a blessed day!
Thought for the day….. When I was growing up, I always wanted to be someone. Now, I realize I should have been more specific.
