I hope everyone is staying warm as this weather has really turned off cool. We had a pretty good holiday last week, especially with a few days off work. I think our bodies just need a good break sometimes. We have a lot of people sick in our little community. Week before last I had a sinus infection. My mom has been sick. Bro. Grant Coffey has been sick also. Please pray for a speedy recovery for them all.
Sunday morning the young adults sang Redeemed and they did a wonderful job. I love seeing our younger ladies and men stepping up and being so active. That is what keeps a church going.
Bro. Craig Warren brought us a great message Sunday morning in Bro. Grant’s absence. Bro. Warren is our neighbor and friend and we love his family. They are a great addition to the neighborhood.
Bro. Warren started in Psalms 119:1-16. Almost every verse is dedicated to the importance of God’s word. You can’t change or bend Scripture. It is there to change our hearts, not for us to change it. God works on us daily to be more like Jesus.
The first thing we learned is to walk in God’s word. Verse 1 says blessed are those that walk in the law of the Lord. Second, store God’s word in our hearts. We tend to fill our days with worldly pursuits where we need to fill it with the things of God. Verse 11 tells us to store God’s word in our hearts so we not to sin against him.
Third, we need to proclaim God’s word. How can you proclaim what you believe in if you don’t know it. We are to tell others about God (v. 13). Behold God’s word and watch him work on your life.
Due to so many being sick we didn’t meet Sunday night. I take Mom to have a procedure done Tuesday and I’m praying that turns out fine. I hope everyone has a great rest of the week. Stay warm. If you’re looking for a home church, we invite you to join us.
